"I would wish you good morning, but that would be impolite, since it's really late."
"Dude, what the fuck?" Subaru slowly opened his eyes, looking around. We were in an ornate room, with white marbles walls and royal blue curtains that stayed against the windows, blocking a majority of the Sunlight from entering. The marbles had designs engraved in it, most probably out of gold. "Where are we?"
"Well, after you thanked Emilia and passed out, we brought you here, to her mansion." I informed him. "And I also changed you into that bathrobe, in case you were going to ask."
"Oh, that was you?" Subaru looked down, getting off the bed. "Thanks a lot man! Now let's go explore." Subaru got up from the bed, and quickly left the room, walking along the carpeted corridor. It seems he is too excited to question where his clothes are, or that I even changed him out of his underwear. But, we don't talk about that. I should follow him.
Crrrackkk!
Hm?
I looked down, as a chunk of broken stone remained where my foot had touched the stone floor. I squatted down, looking at the damage. But, as I did so, the stone under my other foot broke as well.
What even is going on?
I wasn't applying any forceful strength onto the ground. Wait, let me try something else. I leapt into the air, spinning completely as I landed upside down, just balancing myself with my finger. My finger had landed in the area where the stone had broken, and surprisingly, it decimated that space, causing more damage.
This doesn't make any sense.
Ever since I was a child, I was always taught to be light on my feet, apply the least amount of force and pressure on the ground to create the least amount of sound. By the time I was 7, I simply did it subconsciously. Even now, I knew I hadn't changed anything. Then that leaves only one explanation.
This was simply my subconscious physical strength.
Odd. Three loops ago, I was effortlessly walking on wood without it creaking or breaking. Now here I was, breaking stone with my fingertips.
Wait... three loops ago.
Does that mean, every time Subaru dies and a loop resets, the physical aspects of my body increase?
If Subaru's death increases my physical statistics, then what role will my death play? Will it be the reverse, where my death increases Subaru's physical prowess?
No, it's unlikely. I didn't appear here with Subaru's first loop. I appeared on the second one. Simply put, Subaru and I may be connected through the loops and his return by death, but this is a one way chain. In other words, Subaru is the source. His death benefits me, but my death does not benefit him in any way whatsoever.
But, this is still speculation, and not proven. Alas, there is also the risk of me not returning by death, since I am unsure if I gain the same abilities as Subaru. Quite possibly not. Our connection through the loop does not guarantee my safety.
I sighed. Too much to ponder over. I slowly, and tentatively walked forwards, controlling the force I put out. Which, I fortunately can. Wonderful. I walked out of the room, following the direction I saw Subaru walking in. However, I didn't make it too far before stopping. I felt an odd presence in the first room, but also one behind me.
I looked behind, to see Subaru walking towards me. Since he was walking ahead of me, does that mean that this is a looping hallway?
"Hey Ayanokouji, you finally came out of the room." Subaru waved at me, his eyes momentarily drifting to the painting on the wall. "Wait, I crossed this a while back. So, this is a looping corridor?"
