"Kurosawa-kun, I saw the cutest kitten near the fountain on the side of the school. Sadly it ran away," Somatomo Riku said with a pout.
"Mhm..." Kurosawa responded, not really listening as he read his lines.
Oblivious to this, Riku asked, "Should I go look for it?"
"Mhm..."
"Will you help me?" Riku asked with a big smile.
"No."
Riku's smile fell and his shoulders slumped. "Oh... ok..."
Kurosawa sighed and finally looked up from his script. "Go ask Aishi-kun."
They were all backstage of the gym stage and Ayoshi sat at a vanity taking off his practice makeup for their future play. Riku blushed, "Should I?"
"Stop being such a scaredy-cat. This is a good chance for you to spend time with him."
Riku clenched his fist with a determined look. "You're right! I have to man up!" He turned around and marched over to Ayoshi. "Ai-aishi-kun!"
Ayoshi unclipped his hair, "Yes?"
"I- umm I-" Riku froze, his mind short-circuiting from Ayoshi's hair streaming down his neck.
Ayoshi tilted his head, "Are you ok?"
Riku pinched himself, clearing his throat. "I saw this kitten earlier, but it ran off when I tried getting closer. I'm hoping to find it again. Will you come with me?"
"I can help. I also like cats."
"Great! The last place I saw him was the side fountain. We should try looking around there first."
"Ok." The two walked to the fountain, searching around, but found nothing. "It must have hid somewhere."
"I want to keep looking. I want to make sure it's ok."
Ayoshi nodded, "We can look near the garden. It seems like a good place for hiding spots."
"Good idea!" As they walked to the garden Riku began to ramble, "I've loved cats since I was young, but I've never been allowed to have one since my dad is allergic, so I've settled on feeding the strays near my house. There are four, they're all so cute! There's Yuki, Mikan, Momo, and Toro! Hopefully, we can find this kitten an owner. Who knows what will happen to it out here!" Realizing Ayoshi hadn't said anything all this time, he awkwardly laughed, "Sorry, do you have any pets?"
"No, but I did." Ayoshi's eyes lowered, "I had a bunny when I was younger, but after she passed away, I couldn't bring myself to get another pet."
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
Ayoshi shook his head, "It's ok."
When they arrived at the garden, they searched around for a few minutes, finally finding the kitten sleeping in some of the flowers. Riku looked up at Ayoshi with a big smile. "So precious!" He reached into his pocket and took out a bag of treats. He made kissing noises to attract its attention, waking it up. The kitten arched its back, hissing. "It's ok little guy, I'm just here to give you a few treats." He stretched out his hand with treats, but the kitten just swatted at him. He frowned, "Should we let it be?"
Ayoshi took a few treats from Riku and just placed them in front of the kitten. He then grabbed Riku's hand and moved back a few steps. "Let's wait a few minutes."
The kitten sniffed the treats, hesitantly eating a few. After relaxing, it came out of the bushes, slowly moving towards them. "Meow!"
Riku smiled, crouching. He held out his hand, which it sniffed. "I have more!" He poured out some more treats and while it ate, he gave it a few pets on the head. Ayoshi crouched next to him, also petting the kitten. Their hands grazed and he had to bite his lip to keep from squealing.
"Very soft."
"Yes..." Riku said, looking at Ayoshi's hand.
"We should bring it some water."
"Good idea, it's going to start getting hot soon. Don't want the little guy overheating." They left the kitten a few more treats and walked to the Cooking Club. Riku glanced over at Ayoshi, 'You can do this!' He took a deep breath, "Do you have a... cr-crush on anyone?"
"Crush?" Ayoshi hummed, then shook his head. "No. Do you?"
Riku avoided eye contact, "Yeah, bu-but I don't think they'll like me..."
"Why?"
"I'm not that good-looking, kinda plain," Riku said, pursing his lips.
"No, you're not."
"You don't have to lie."
"I am not lying. I can help you."
Riku furrowed his brows, "Help me?"
"I can help you boost your confidence."
"How?"
"I don't think you're ugly, but maybe we can change a few things to help. Nothing crazy, maybe your hair."
"Ok!" When they arrived at the Cooking Club, no one was there, so they looked around and found some foam bowls and filled one with water.
Ayoshi grabbed Riku's hand, "Wait."
Riku's heart raced, "Ye-yeah!?"
Ayoshi looked into Riku's eyes closely. "Do you wear contacts?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Do you have your glasses with you?"
"It's in my locker."
"After dropping off the water, we'll go get your glasses."

The two were in the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror. Riku took out his contacts while Ayoshi held his glasses. He blinked a few times, "So blurry."
"Here." Ayoshi put Riku's glasses on him.
Having Ayoshi come back into focus so close to him made Riku almost kiss him on the spot, but held back. "Thanks, but won't wearing my classes make me look nerdy?"
"Not at all. I have always thought people looked good with glasses. Now for your hair." Ayoshi wet his hands and slicked back Riku's hair.
Riku's heart stopped at Ayoshi gently running his fingers through his hair. The sensation almost caused him to moan.
Ayoshi turned Riku towards the mirror. "See? Handsome."
Riku's eyes went wide. It had been a long time since he wore his glasses. "Yeah... handsome. Thank you, Aishi-kun."
"No problem. Your crush will definitely like you now."
"Hopefully..."
