Gumball and Darwin were sitting on the couch, watching whatever was on TV. The day had been long and somewhat exhausting, with their latest adventure happening an hour ago, but it was worth it.

"I'm glad we got to help give Clare a happy ending!" Darwin said happily, knowing that her life would be a lot less depressing now. They had practically fixed all her problems after all.

"Yeah, she's probably really happy about it too." Gumball replied, feeling good as well. Again, it was well worth the trouble today. That, and he and his brother both knew that he would end up bragging about it at some point.

Darwin began to frown, as he remembered the event. It played over in his mind, with words and all, pretty great in his eyes. However, something didn't feel right. Looking into it further, the goldfish saw through his perspective, seeing the happy ending they gave Clare, all was normal so far. Though, he turned to Gumball, who looked... Off.

The cat was very enthusiastic during the event, practically bouncing all over the place, but that was to be expected. What wasn't, was his eyes. They were a medium shade of gray, large, as black dots occupied the pupils. Darwin had never seen this before to his knowledge. Was something wrong? Was it a trick of his head?

"Darwin, are you okay?"

Darwin snapped back into reality, a little dazed and confused. How long was he thinking? "What?"

Gumball was looking at him with concern, a deep frown on his face. "You've been kinda staring at the wall for five minutes. It looked like you.. Saw something too.. Are you okay?"

"Gumball, can I ask you something?" The goldfish sat up a bit. He was hesitant to ask, but it was best to get it off his chest.

The cat raised an eyebrow, before slowly nodding. "Um.. Sure.. Go ahead.."

"Are you crazy?"

"Huh?" Gumball couldn't really hide his look of confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"You know, the eye thing? I saw it earlier."

"Yeah.. No clue what you're saying dude." Gumball slouched into the sofa, going back to watching TV. "It was probably just the sun reflecting off 'em or something. For the record, I don't appreciate being called crazy for no reason."

"Gumball, is there something you're not telling me?" Darwin questioned. He couldn't really brush it off. He knew what he saw. "I'm not being mean I promise, I just wanna know.."

Getting no reply, he sighed, and didn't question it any further. "Sorry, you're right. It's probably nothing."

The goldfish then laid back and focused his attention back onto the TV. Whatever it was, he was sure it was safe. He knew Gumball well. If it were bad, he could tell a mile away. Telling from the cat's confusion, it seemed he didn't know. All is fine.

It was the next day, which meant another tedious day of school. Gumball and Darwin were walking down the hall, both desperately wanting to go home. If only it were possible.

"Ugh.. Another day of school...." Gumball groaned miserably, bored out of his skull. He trudged in his steps, having absolutely no energy to bother walking regularly.

"At least there's not a surprise test today." Darwin shared the same thoughts, though felt a little more optimistic. "Today will be over before we even know it."

Not looking ahead of them, thanks to talking to each other in the moment, they bumped into a student. The two quickly caught their balance, but suddenly got shoved by the person in question.
