Everything seemed to return somewhat normal after that day.

Nobody talked about anything regarding the "incident", but... Most were still aware of what happened. Tobias was dead, and no one could bring him back. Sure, he was a jerk half the time, but it wasn't like they didn't care about him or anything. He was still a fellow student from school, somebody they knew and interacted with.

Authorities declared him missing, since there was no trace of him anywhere in town, as if he had just up and left suddenly. They didn't know what happened to the rainbow-colored boy at all. It was almost like a mystery left unsolved to them.

But everyone else in school knew.

It was an average day in Elmore Jr. High, well, for now, considering mishaps were a daily occurrence. Students conversed in their little groups, while teachers were tiredly preparing their next classes.

Gumball meanwhile was walking down the hallway, with Darwin by his side. He sighed rather dramatically, catching the other's attention. "Finally, it's Friday! It feels like it's been half a century!"

They arrived at their lockers, getting ready to head to class. Naturally they weren't too thrilled for the impending boredom that could come from their subjects, but they could last a little longer.

"Yeah, I guess you could say this week was pretty long." Darwin replied, as he shut his locker door. "At least we'll have time this weekend for something."

"Did.. You hear anything about.. Well.. You know.. Recently?.." Gumball asked, his voice lowered down to a whisper. His expression read of worry, yet an immense fear.

It felt like the happy usual tone five seconds ago vanished for the two, reality striking them hard. This week had been home to Tobias's death. Everyone at school was very much aware that Gumball had done it, that he had something wrong with him that made him act that way. It was actually the reason why the two weren't bothered as much lately, most being afraid to even interact with them.

The cat hated that, only being reminded of the timeline he had been in before. It practically felt the same as before somehow. Yet, he was grateful that it was only Tobias. Nobody else was dead. At least, he hoped it would stay that way.

"Uh.. Not that I know of.. He's just missing to the authorities.." Darwin whispered back, wary of the situation just as much as his brother. He was doing his best to keep him safe from the incident, especially when students were talking behind the feline's back. He disliked them calling his friend anything but his own name, from murderer, to psychopath, to monster, it only annoyed him hearing them tossed around like nothing.

"They don't know yet?.." The cat turned towards him, almost afraid to even talk about this.

"Not yet.."

He let out a sigh of relief, as he closed his locker, his fears lessening for now. Normalcy was still here. He felt terrible having to pretend that the rainbow colored boy was just fine, like nothing ever happened. It felt foul, like pretending someone never even existed.

"Um.. You took care of him... Right?..." Darwin was hesitant to downright say it. Talking about murder wasn't exactly something he was used to, not in his day-to-day routine that was. "Not just.. Stuffed in a locker or something?.."

"..Um.. Yeah.." Gumball was slightly awkward answering the question, as he shifted in his place. "I.. Sort of buried him outside. It's really hard to see it at first glance unless you're actively looking for it.."

"Well that's good, right?.. Makes the searches less worrying?.." The goldfish soon walked past him, heading towards his class. "Anyways uh, I'll see you later Gumball."
