Gumball and Darwin were trying their best to hold onto the remote, as everything glitched and reversed around them. A strange kind of force was pulling them about, making it harder to hold onto the device. Suddenly, it was getting to be too much, as Darwin's fins slipped off.
"Darwin no!" Gumball tried to grab him with one arm, but his brother soon disappeared into the waves of static, his screams fading away. Tears streamed down his face, as he could only gaze down at the swirling void with horror. How was this going to affect the timeline now? Was Darwin.. Dead? The thought of it scared him. He wasn't supposed to deal with this alone. They were going to go through it together. Now that seemed impossible.
Before he could react, the device vanished in his hands, as the world flickered. He soon recognized his surroundings, being thrown back into his school. He couldn't deny the utter guilt he felt however, as he was left standing alone in the hallway.
Has things finally changed?
Gumball's eyes widened, as he realized his fists were closed, feeling something warm inside them. He slowly looked down, opening them, only to be left in absolute terror. There before him were bloody pieces of a dying heart. Tobias's heart .
He quickly dropped them, physically restraining himself from letting out a scream.
This wasn't far back enough. Tobias was still dead. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen. Why was everything going wrong? All he could think was.. This was his fault. He never should have even listened to whatever was going on in his head. Now, here he was again, standing in a quiet hallway, blood soaked into his clothes, knife nearby, with the corpse of the rainbow colored jock sprawled against the lockers.
Tears streamed down his face, falling and mixing into the pools of red. How was he supposed to fix this? It all felt like a sick joke on him.
"What was that?!"
"Was that Tobias?!"
Gumball tried to wipe the tears from his face, feeling an immense dread and fear. Footsteps were coming closer. He couldn't bear to see the looks on everyone's faces, he knew what they would feel, react even.
Noticing the knife on the ground, he picked it up, for a moment looking at it. It gleamed slightly in the hall's light, though was mostly blocked by the blood on it. Was this how it was meant to be? Could he ever change his fate?
He could try at least.
Exhaling, he began making his way down the opposite end of the hall, away from the noises, leaving only a trail of blood and tears behind him.

Finally, some things were changed.
Gumball stood there in the darker part of the hallway, looking at Darwin, who was sitting in front of the vending machine, looking out for anything. It was scary how it was nearly the same. Thankfully, it wasn't, as the feline made sure that many things didn't occur. Rocky wasn't dead. Miss Simian didn't see him. Now it was time to make things right.
"It's no use.. There's nothing here.." Darwin muttered to himself, sighing in defeat. Feeling as if he was being watched however, the goldfish looked up, noticing his brother in the distance. "G-Gumball?"
This was it.
"..Yeah.. It's me." Gumball replied quietly. He was grateful not to scare him horribly like last time.
"..What are you doing here?.." It was no secret Darwin was very much not comfortable there right now, trembling where he sat. He did his best to stay calm, to act as if he wasn't terrified at this moment.
