After a few days, we were sent to Overhauls hide out. We were put in a meeting room. All of Overhauls weird followers were wearing bird masks.
They're all so weird...
"Peyusha, what's your quirk?" The strange, buff man asked.
I wasn't going to respond, but all of a sudden the words just came out.
"My quirk is shadow master. I can manipulate shadows. This can be by making weapons out of shadows, or by turning anything, including myself, into a shadow. There is a downfall to this. When I'm in my shadow form, I can't have too much weight on me, even if it's my own weight. I also need to constantly have energy, or else my quirk won't work. Long fights and minimum sleep are a no go. To make sure I don't have to be below the average weight, I wear less clothes, and have a balanced diet. That can get hard sometimes considering how much I love food."
Toga looked at me, so did Twice. All three of us were dumbfounded.
Why couldn't I stop talking?
"Now, did Shigaraki tell you to betray us?" The buff, weird man asked.
"No," All three of us said in unison.
He didn't, but I know we will anyway. Overhaul is a bitch.
Then the door opened. A woman with plum colored hair, pale skin, and a long white dress entered the room. She looked a little scared.
"Apologies, Overhaul, but I have come to tell you Eri is asleep like you wished," She softly said. Her voice was shaky.
Wait, I know that voice...
"Darling?"
She looked over to me.
"Pey!"
We stared at each other.
"I haven't seen you since middle school."
"I kind of ran away."
"That makes two of us."
Darling stared at me.Growing up, Darling only ever preferred to be called Darling. It was what everyone called her. I assumed she liked the ring of it. I assumed a lot of things about her. Kind of like the day she disappeared from the face of the Earth. Being friends with a quiet person meant you never knew what was going happening in their world.
There's no way she's here through free will. Who's Eri? This doesn't make sense.
She stared at me, and her eyes told me everything. She wanted to be saved. For once, I wished the heroes were here. For once, I wanted to risk being caught to help her run away.
Overhaul made her face him.
"Thank you. Now go."
She nodded her head and quickly ran away.I walked through the weird place. It was like a mental hospital. No windows, no freedom, all white. I had a chill go down my spine.
Never would I think a place would give me the creeps like this.
I heard soft classical music as I passed through one of the rooms. I stopped, softly opening the door. Darling was on the ground, writing. She looked up, her face terrified at first, then relaxed when she saw it was me.
"You scared me."
"I could tell."
She breathed heavily, placing a hand on her chest.
"Are you... Are you okay?"
She nodded.
"Yeah, I'm just a little shaken up. It's not often that people come into my room just to talk calmly to me."
"Does he hurt you? If so, I'll gladly take care of him."
I heard her whisper something, but I brushed it off. I sat down in front of her.
"So, what are you doing?"
"Journaling. It helps me. I don't talk to many people here. In fact, I'm not even allowed to go outside. He thinks I'll run away; that I'll never come back. He keeps a close eye on me. Would you care to join me? I have empty notebooks!"
I don't know if I should. Privacy isn't very common amongst the League.
"It wouldn't hurt anyone if I did," I replied, not thinking about what I just said.
She smiled, getting a purple notebook out, and a pencil. I carefully took it from her.I stared at the blank paper.
How do I do this?
She looked at me.
"I drew how I felt at first. I drew it in ways no one but me would understand. I know you're very artistic, so maybe try that."
Draw how I feel? Maybe a planet covered in fire and blood.
I placed my pencil on the paper, and let my body do what felt right. We were like that for hours. It was quiet. It was peaceful. It was something I needed.
I never got quiet. Quiet was always a wish. Quiet only came when I slept. Quiet was a hope. For once, peace was natural. I covered seven pages with drawings. They all had one thing in common, they all showed how crappy my life was. How crappy it still is. I felt my eyes swell with tears. For once, I let the tears flow. Darling looked over to me.
She rubbed my back.
"The world sucks, and that's okay. We all mess up. We all want to disappear at one point. You're strong."
I hugged her and let the tears race down my face.
She held me.
"It's okay. It'll all be okay."I wish I was normal. I wish she was right. Nothing will be okay. Not in my world.
