The sun had descended, casting a soft twilight glow into Y/n's room as she woke from her sleep. Groggily, she glanced at the clock and realized it was already past the evening. She decided to freshen up quickly; her father would be home any minute now.
She slipped into a pair of comfortable sweatpants and a black crop top, then made her way downstairs. The familiar scent of home-cooked food wafted through the air as she walked into the kitchen, where Maria was busy preparing dinner.
"Maria, it smells wonderful," Y/n said, smiling.
Maria looked up, returning the smile warmly. "Thank you, Y/n. It's so good to have you back home."
They chatted for a few moments, catching up on the little details of daily life. Y/n felt a sense of comfort and normalcy in the kitchen, a stark contrast to the complexities that awaited her.
Just then, the front door opened, and her father, Dae-hyun Kang, walked in. His presence immediately filled the room with a commanding yet comforting aura.
"Y/n!" he called out, his eyes lighting up as he saw her.
"Dad!" Y/n exclaimed, rushing to him.
Dae-hyun embraced her tightly, holding her as if he never wanted to let go. Y/n chuckled, feeling the familiar warmth of his hug.
"I've missed you so much, sweetheart," he said, his voice tinged with emotion.
"I've missed you too, Dad," she replied, her voice muffled against his shoulder.
Maria stood by, smiling at their interaction, happy to see them reunited. The atmosphere was filled with love and warmth, making the house feel like a true home once again.
As they finally pulled apart, Dae-hyun looked at Y/n with a proud smile. "Come, let's have dinner. We have so much to talk about."
Y/n nodded, feeling a mix of emotions but mostly gratitude for being back with her father. They moved to the dining table, ready to share a meal and catch up on the time they had missed.
As they settled at the dining table, the soft clinking of cutlery and the warm ambiance of the dining room set a comforting tone for their reunion. Dae-hyun Kang looked at his daughter with a blend of pride and concern, eager to hear about her life in Russia.
"How was your journey, Y/n? Was everything comfortable?" Dae-hyun began, his eyes filled with genuine interest.
Y/n smiled, appreciating his concern. "The journey was fine, Dad. A bit tiring, but I'm glad to be home. Russia has been good to me, but I've missed Korea and, of course, I've missed you."
Dae-hyun nodded, his expression softening. "I missed you too, sweetheart. How was everything in Russia? Did you find it inspiring for your dream of opening an art gallery?"
Y/n's eyes lit up at the mention of her dream. "Oh, it was amazing! I met so many talented artists and visited countless galleries. The art scene there is vibrant and incredibly diverse. It really fueled my passion for opening my own gallery someday."
