Soon after the lively conversations with the girls, Y/N found herself in her father's study, a room steeped in rich mahogany and the scent of aged books. The air was thick with the weight of unspoken words as they chatted about recent events and life. Her father's study was a place of refuge, filled with artifacts of their family history and memories of a different time.
Her father shifted in his chair, his fingers tracing the intricate patterns on the armrest. With a heavy sigh and a small, tentative smile, he expressed his relief.
"I'm glad to hear Taehyung is taking care of you," he said, his voice tinged with a mixture of relief and concern. "I was worried, given our past conflicts."
Y/N's eyes softened as she recounted how Taehyung had changed, how deeply he loved her.
"He's not the man he used to be," she said softly. "He's found a way to let go of his anger and bitterness."
Her father nodded, though his expression remained somber. "I'm happy to hear that, truly. But there's something you should know about Taehyung, something I've kept from you."
Y/N's heart tightened with apprehension, but she urged him to continue.
He leaned back, his gaze distant as he delved into the past. "Years ago, Taehyung's parents, Taehyung himself, and several business partners were gathered for a clandestine meeting. Taehyung was almost 12 then-sharp, intelligent, full of enthusiasm. He greeted me with such respect and pride. But tensions were high that day, and after the meeting, everything fell apart."
He paused, the memory clearly painful to recount. "During the meeting, arguments erupted between Taehyung's parents and another man. After it ended, that man... he killed Taehyung's parents right in front of us. I tried to intervene, but he threatened me with your life. At that time you were just ten, and my only family I didn't want to lose you." He paused taking a deep breath
"I couldn't do anything. Taehyung yelled, cried, and begged for help. His eyes were filled with sorrow and desperation, but I was powerless to help him."
Y/N felt a wave of sorrow and empathy for Taehyung. She had never known the full extent of his trauma, the loss he had endured at such a young age. Her father's eyes, usually so strong and authoritative, now brimmed with regret and pain.
"I never knew," Y/N whispered, her voice trembling. "I never realized how much he had suffered."
Her father nodded, his expression heavy with the weight of the past. "Taehyung has endured so much. It's a miracle he's managed to find love and happiness again. I'm grateful he's taking care of you, Y/N. I just hope you both can find peace and healing together."
Y/N reached out, taking her father's hand in hers. "We will, Dad. We'll find a way to move forward and create a better future."
The room seemed to hold its breath, the air thick with the promise of understanding and reconciliation. The shadows of the past were still there, but they were no longer as daunting. They were part of the story, but not the end of it. Y/N felt a renewed sense of determination and hope, ready to face whatever the future held with Taehyung by her side.
