After their stay at the resort, the family returned to Jeongshimjae. Despite Jay giving Sunghoon the cold shoulder throughout the vacation, it hardly mattered now because Jake was back.
Jake had suggested they hang out the next day, and Sunghoon was over the moon with excitement, even though he couldn't fully explain why. This new feeling left him on edge constantly, and every thought of Jake made his cheeks warm up.
Jay, on the other hand, was perplexed since that one day of camping. He often noticed Sunghoon smiling to himself, blushing while texting, and taking numerous pictures to send to someone. Jay wasn't sure who the recipient was, though he had a suspicion.
He found this shift particularly irritating, as it felt like he was no longer in control of their dynamic, or, more like he felt insecure of Sunghoon for the first time. It seemed like the younger took his parents, his house, his position, and now he's taking away his friends. Jay was okay when Jake said he had a crush back then because then, Park Sunghoon wasn't his brother.
Not that he could do anything about it. He has important stuff to do, maybe talking to Heeseung would help?

Jake and Sunghoon had decided to spend the day together, since they were away for some time. It wasn't unusual for them to hang out, but today felt different—more significant, somehow.
They met up at a quaint café nestled in a quiet corner of the city. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of soft jazz music created an inviting atmosphere.
"You always have coffee! One day, you'll have caffiene running through your veins, not kidding." Jake said as they stood beside the counter waiting.
Sunghoon chuckled. "I don't have much at home really,"
Jake ordered a mocha, and Sunghoon opted for a latte. "You must know how to make these." Jake mentioned as he remembered Sunghoon working in a cafe before.
The younger nodded. "I do know. . . .I think this is a serious waste of money, I could make us nicer coffee." He huffed.
"Sure"
When their drinks arrived, they chose a cozy booth by the window. Jake admired the street view while Sunghoon admired Jake.
"You know," Jake said, taking a sip of his Mocha, "this is nice. we should come to this one often."
Sunghoon nodded, his eyes twinkling. "Absolutely. Any excuse to see your pretty face."
Jake blushed, and Sunghoon laughed. "Gotcha!"
The older let out a cough to cover his burning face. "You are weird lately, you know."
After brunch, they headed to a nearby art gallery. The gallery was huge and filled with vibrant and eclectic pieces. It was only open for a few key people, Jake's grandfather being one so they didn't have a problem getting in. Sunghoon was captivated by a bold, abstract painting, and Jake couldn't help but be captivated by Sunghoon's enthusiasm.
"Look at this, Jake," Sunghoon said, pointing to the painting. "It's like chaos and harmony all at once."
Jake chuckled. "Kind of like us, don't you think?"
Sunghoon gave him a playful shove. "Speak for yourself. I'm all harmony."
"Sure you are," Jake said, grinning. "you are that excited over a Painting?"
Sunghoon hummed. "I've never been to such expensive places, so yeah this is exciting."
They moved further through the gallery, their shoulders occasionally brushing. Each touch sent a small jolt through Jake, making him feel more alive than he had in a long time.
After the gallery, they decided to visit a garden. The lush greenery and vibrant flowers provided a serene contrast to the bustling city. They walked along the winding paths, stopping to admire the colorful blossoms and fragrant scents. At one point, they came across a secluded bench surrounded by blooming roses.
"Let's sit for a bit," Sunghoon suggested.
They sat down, their shoulders touching again. Sunghoon leaned back and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "This place is beautiful."
"It is," Jake agreed.
As the afternoon turned into evening, they made their way to a nearby park. The sky was painted with hues of pink and orange as the sun began to set. They found a spot and sat down on the grass, watching the sunset.
"Did you enjoy your vacation?" Sunghoon asked softly.
Jake nodded. "Yeah, I did. Mom is happy too and she looks healthier."
"That's great."
Jake hummed and leaned against Sunghoon, and the younger wrapped an arm around him, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him. As the sky darkened and the first stars appeared, they decided it was time to head back.
They walked side by side, their fingers occasionally brushing. Each touch sent shivers down Jake's spine. They reached the entrance of the park, where a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the trees above them.
Sunghoon stopped and turned to Jake, his eyes soft and full of emotion. "I don't even want to head back, we should hangout again tomorrow."
Jake smiled, his heart pounding in his chest. "Me too, Hoon. let's see if we can go tomorrow too."
Sunghoon nodded slowly, his eyes not leaving the olders.
For a moment, they stood there, simply looking at each other. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in their own little bubble. Without thinking, Sunghoon reached out and gently cupped Jake's cheek.
Don't hate me for this.
Jake's eyes widened slightly, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he leaned into Sunghoon's touch, his gaze locking onto his. "Hoon. . . ."
Sunghoon's heart raced as he leaned in closer, his breath mingling with Jake's. "Can I. . .?"
Jake nodded, his eyes fluttering closed. "Yes."
Sunghoon closed the remaining distance between them, his lips meeting Jake's in a soft, tender kiss. It was gentle at first, a tentative exploration of newfound feelings. Jake's lips were warm and soft against his, a rush of emotions flooded through him.
Jake responded, his hands coming up to rest on Sunghoon's shoulders, pulling him closer. The kiss deepened slightly, their lips moving in perfect harmony. It was a kiss filled with unspoken words and emotions, a moment of pure connection that transcended everything else.
When they finally pulled apart, they were both breathing heavily, their foreheads resting against each other. Jake's eyes slowly opened, meeting the Sunghoon's with a mixture of surprise and something deeper, something that made his heart soar.
"Jake," Sunghoon whispered, his voice trembling slightly. "I. . ." What have I done. . . .
Jake shook his head gently, a small smile playing on his lips. "You don't have to say anything, Hoon. It's alright, we'll talk later."
Sunghoon nodded, his heart feeling lighter after seeing Jake smile. "Okay."
As they parted ways, Jake felt a sense of clarity and hope. Sunghoon wouldn't have kissed him if he didn't have feelings for him, and that realization made him sigh in relief.
