Mikey's pov

I sighed as I realized my break had ended. I still had 3 more hours before I could finally go home. I put my phone away and got up, rubbing my eyes and pulling myself together and walking back outside. "Hello welcome to Starbucks what can I get you?" "Just my usual." "Oh uh.. sorry I don't know what your usual is." The guy looked up from his phone and glared at me. "What do you mean you don't know? I'm a regular, I come here everyday!" His voice started getting louder. "I-I'm sorry I really dont know-" He cut me off by scoffing loudly, rolling his eyes. I fidgeted, hoping he'd just tell me what his order was. Gerard realized what was happening and came over, "He's one of those arrogant people, don't think too much okay? I'm gonna go on my break now." He winked as he went to the back. I nodded and turned back to him. He groaned as he started telling me his order. "It'll be right out for you. What was the name of the order?" "Adam." "How will you be paying?" He looked at me confused. I stared back at him, tilting my head. Was he going to say anything? He pulled his phone out, shoving it in my face, "Don't you know who I am? I'm a famous influencer. You should be grateful, I'm helping you by posting it on Instagram so more people will come." "Still, you need to pay.. that'll be $8." "This is ridiculous." I gulped as I took his money.

A few minutes later, Pete handed me a drink. "You okay baby?" "Yeah, just tired." I smiled as he went back to making drinks. "Hot chocolate for Stacy." I called as Adam stormed up to me. "Wait sir that's not your dri-" "THIS IS WRONG!" He shouted as he took a sip. "I called for Stacy, that isn't you is it? And you ordered coffee." "I don't care, just make sure you get my order right. God, how hard is it to make a drink? I have places to be." I could feel tears rushing to my eyes. "That was my drink.." A timid voice said. "I'm sorry, I'll make sure to redo your order." "You better make mine fast, lazy. They'll just hire anyone nowadays huh?" Adam complained as Stacy stood there awkwardly. "Listen man, just wait for your order. He's literally just a cashier, not the one making drinks. We'll be sure to call you when your drink's ready." Pete said firmly as he stopped whatever he was doing and walked up behind me. "This is none of your business-" "Actually, it is. You've been nothing but rude to my employee here the whole time. I'm the manager, but its just super busy today and that's why I'm working. Now, go sit back down and wait for your drink." Adam sighed and went back on his phone and stood near me as I apologized to Stacy again. Luckily, she was understanding and said that it wasn't my fault.

Pete's pov

I was already fed up with that "Adam" guy, but this was the last straw. Not long after he shouted at Mikey cause he drank another person's drink, I handed Mikey Adam's drink, making sure to work near him just incase. "Coffee for Adam. It's hot, so be careful." He called. "Finally, took you long enough." He sneered as he took a sip of his drink. "This is so hot! What is wrong with you?!" I could hear Mikey sigh. "I just told you, its hot-" "Well how about you have a taste of your own drink?" I turned around, dropping everything I was holding as Mikey screamed. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? MIKEY ARE YOU OKAY?" I shouted, grabbing tissues and trying to wipe the coffee off of him. Adam had just poured his whole drink onto Mikey, laughing. I gave him a dirty look as I helped Mikey to the back. "Here, go change okay?" I said as I passed him one of my shirts and a new apron. He sniffled as I wiped his tears. "What happened?" Gerard asked frantically as he ran to us. "Some son of a bitch poured hot coffee that was just made on Mikey cause it was "too hot" when Mikey literally told him to be careful." "I'll take care of it." I nodded as Gerard went back out. "Don't cry, it's okay." I whispered as I pulled Mikey in for a hug. He went to go change, wiping his tears away. I pulled him into my arms as he came back out a few minutes later. I could hear Gerard shouting at Adam, but I didn't care. I covered Mikey's ears as I kissed his head. I looked around before grabbing my headphones and putting it on him. They were sort of noise-canceling, so he wouldn't be able to listen to whatever was happening outside. I wrapped my arms around him as he did the same, resting his head on my shoulder.

"Don't worry, he's gone now. Come here," Gerard let out a sigh of relief as he walked in with open arms. Mikey looked up as I let him go, running into Gerard's arms. Gerard hugged him tightly, patting his head. Mikey hugged him even tighter, thanking him. "Nobody gets to shout at my little brother like that and get away with it, ever." "Thank you, both of you."

-later at home-

I walked into our room to see Mikey laying in bed, tucked in. "What's wrong baby? You don't usually get in bed so early." "Nothing.." He muttered in a soft voice. I put my book down on my bedside as I crawled into bed with him, pulling him closer to me. He turned over to face me, hugging me back. ""What's wrong?" "I was just thinking about that guy earlier.." "Look at me Mikey." I lifted his chin up as I stared at his gorgeous brown eyes. "It wasn't your fault. That guy was stupid. You already told him that the drink was hot, but he didn't listen. Don't let him bring you down okay?" "Okay." "Good," I smiled as I pulled him in for a kiss. He kissed me back, wrapping his hands around my neck. "God, I love you so much." "And I love you even more." He giggled as I pulled him closer, cuddling with him.
