Gabriel was silent as he and Cas made their way back home. He appreciated Cas trying to protect him, but he did not want him to cause problems this weekend. Once they were inside, Gabriel turned, staring at his brother.

"What?"

Castiel looked at Gabriel, a defensive look on his face.

"You need to let it go, Cas. "

"Like hell I do. I watched you fall apart these past few months. Watched you get hurt and hurt yourself. How the hell do you expect me to just forget about all of that?"

Gabriel sighed, guilt filling his chest. He hadn't realized Cas had been paying that much attention.

"It's not his fault, Cas."

"Then who's fault is it? He started all of this. He set the whole town against you."

"They would have found out eventually. Besides, it doesn't matter now."

"Yes, it does! It does matter, Gabriel. How are you okay with him acting like nothing happened?"

Gabriel stiffened, Castiel didn't know what he was talking about.

"Just shut up, Cas! You don't know a damn thing.

Castiel stared at him in shock.

"Yeah, you have seen what has been happening, but you don't understand. Sam does! You've never been in that place mentally. You don't know what it is like to just need to escape! To disappear! You don't know anything! If I decided to forgive Sam for what he did to me, then you had damn well better try too, because I'm not changing my mind. He is the only friend I have, so stop trying to push him out of my life!"

Gabriel was shaking, his anger coursing through him as he stomped up to his room. He pulled a half empty bottle out of his closet, taking a drink. He didn't care if he would be in trouble. He just needed to take the edge off his emotions. He continued taking drinks from the bottle as he packed, not realizing that it was empty by the time he was done.

"Well... I guess that's best anyway since I can't take it with me tomorrow. He fully believed that Michael would be checking his bag, so he may as well not have anything to bring with him. With that thought, he grabbed his flask, feeling the weight of the liquid inside. Gabriel decided to finish that, too, making his way out back to the swing on the deck. He sat down, opening the flask and taking another drink. The alcohol burned as it went down, distracting him from his fight with Cas. He hated fighting with his brother, especially since he knew he was only trying to protect him. Gabriel closed his eyes as he heard someone walk into the yard, taking a seat beside him. Suddenly, the flask was pulled from his hand.

"Hey, what the hell?"

He heard a familiar laugh and cracked an eye open, seeing lucifer taking a drink.

"Drinking alone is just sad. You may as well let me join you."

Gabriel groaned, knowing he would not be getting his flask back. That was probably good, though, since his vision was now blury, and he felt dizzy from the swing rocking.

"I want that back."

Lucifer laughed, draining the flask.

"Sure thing, little brother, sure thing."

"What are you doing here? I thought you had classes today."

"I did. Now I don't. I heard you guys are going camping tomorrow?"

Gabriel nodded. Even though he loved his brother, he couldn't help the nervousness that he felt every time he came home. The man beside him had changed so much from the brother he grew up with. Then there were the rumors. Gabriel had heard whispers about things lucifer had supposedly done, people he had hurt. There had never been any proof, but Gabriel had found it difficult to believe that all the stories were made up. He knew his brother had done some bad things, but he wasn't sure what exactly. Lucifer, being interested in them going camping, made him nervous.
