The weekend passed to quickly. Before they knew it they were packing up and heading home. Dean was driving with Castiel in the passenger seat. Sam and Gabriel were sat in the back. No one was talking. They were all on edge, wondering what would be waiting when they got home. Dean drove slow, but even so, they made it home in a little over a hour. Pulling into their driveway, he stopped the car, turning ba k to look at his brother.
"Ready?"
Sam nodded, squeezing Gabriel's hand before getting out of the car. The others climbed outbas well, following Sam up to the winchesters house. They could see outlines of people moving behind the curtains in the window. Sam hesitated before unlocking the door and walking inside.
Inside stood Michael, Ellen, Rowena, Chuck, and a man in a suite that Sam didn't recognize. They all turned and looked at the four boys entering the house. Michael was the first to speak.
"Hey guys, how was camping?"
Dean was the one to reply since no one else seemed to want to speak.
"It was good. What is going on here?"
Michael introduced the man in the suite.
"This is detective Fisher from the police department. He is here to help."
"Help how?"
Sam was the one asking now, he didn't see how anything could be done since the attack had gone unreported for over a year. Rowena walked over to Sam, sitting him down on the couch.
"Well sweetie, it turns out that there is actually quite a bit of evidence to support your report."
"What evidence? It happened almost a year ago. How could there possibly be anything left?"
He looed over at the detective for an answer.
"Well for starters, tour clothes from hat night were turned into the department as evidence of a potential crime. Since it was never reported until now, no testing had been done on it. Once we had out lab book at it we found DNA matching you and your attacker. We also searched the shed. Turns out there was DNA there as well, although that probably wond be admissible since it's been so long and you were at the house frequently. But the clothing evidence is solid. That combined with your....history....and your testimony, we have a solid case."
Sam turned to look at Ellen.
"You took my clothes to the police?"
Ellen looked away sheepishly.
"Well I had tondo something."
Sam smiled at her, nodding. He didn't know she had done that, but he was suddenly very happy she did.
"So now what happens?"
Detective Fisher sat down across from Sam.
"Now you tell me what happened. I need to know exactly. Every detail you can remember. Don't leave anything out."
"Does everyone have to be here while I tell you?"
The detective shool his head.
"No. In fact, I am going to have to ask everyone to leave now. The only people who can be here for this are your Michael and Dr.Mcloud."
Sam watched as everyone made their way out. Chuck lead his two son's home, Dean went up to his room, and Ellen left. The house felt quiet now as Sam began to tell his story, this time in much greater detail. He could remember everything. The sights, the smells, the feelings, and the pain. When he was finished, he sagged against the couch, feeling worn out again. The detective thanked him and stood, Micha following him out the door to talk about next steps. Rowena stayed beside Sam, handing him a tissue as he began to cry.
