Melissa's POV:

My family are the first to arrive and already getting along well with Katie. Thank goodness! "Mel, who's gonna be the maid of honor?" My sister Jessica asks. "Uh..we haven't discussed it yet." I replied. "It'll be me...I know it." My other sister Kristina says. "Just cause your the baby doesn't mean she's gonna pick you!" Jessica groans. I roll my eyes at my younger sisters. "You'll find out when Katie and I decide to start planning our wedding." I say ending the conversation. "Your sister's right. Now come on let's go to the living room." Katie says wrapping her arm around me.

My mom's already sitting on the sofa when we walk back in with trays of snacks. "You have a lovely home here ladies. You should be proud of yourselves." My mom says. "Thank you Julie. It took us ages to find the perfect property." Katie explains. "Yea...cause you were picky." I tease. "You were just as picky. 'This one doesn't have enough kitchen space.' Or this one doesn't have enough space for all our books.' So it. Just wasn't me who the picky one." Katie replied. Again I rolled my eyes at her just as the doorbell goes off.

Katie's POV:

"And that'll be my family." I say excusing myself to open the door. "KATIE!" My older brothers Sean and Rory exclaim. "Hello everyone! Welcome to our home!" I say smiling at them. "Melissa! So good to see you again! Is our sister annoying you yet?" Rory asks as he and Sean hug her. "Oh no! Katie could never annoy me! Come on in! My mom and sisters are in here." Melissa said with a smile. "Mum! Dad! Glad you could make it!" I exclaim happily. "Well we wouldn't miss it for the world! A chance to meet my future daughter in law!" My mom Mary says. "Well you've met her before mum." I said. "Yes but that was when you two were just friends. Now you're engaged! That's different!" Julie said with a smile one face.

Melissa gladly accepted the hugs from my parents as we joined everyone in the living room. "Well after dinner I'll show you to your rooms." Melissa said. "Oh what are we having dear?" My mom asked. "We're making a little buffet. There's gonna be pulled pork, stuffed lamb chops, three different salads, and lots of other things." Melissa said. "When did your family get here?" My father asks. "We got here last night! They had dinner all ready for us." Jessica says. I couldn't help but smile as I watched our families get along together.

"Katie..a word..in private.." Melissa whispered. I nodded and followed her out of the living room. "Whats up love?" I asked. "Do you think we'll have enough food?" Melissa asked. I couldn't help but chuckle at my fiancés question. "Mel, relax my love. We have more than enough food. And besides we have our early engagement party on Saturday which is gonna be catered so we don't have to worry. Come on Mel...let's take my family up to their rooms so they can put their stuff away. Then we can go back to enjoying our day." I said. Melissa nodded and we walked back into the living room together.
