It was going to be a long night. They were to wait for the night in the tower of the eastern gate. A room on top of the tower was emptied by the order given by Sidhraj. It was a small room, with two small windows. The room was used alternately by the sentries who guarded the eastern gate. It was cold but well-maintained. It was decked up with artillery and projectile weapons which would be used in case of a siege.

"We will have to leave before dawn. From what Sidhraj told me, the sentries will be arriving after they patrolled the entire wall to the eastern side." Bhairava said.

They sat opposite each other leaning against the wall. He was sitting right in front of her. She wished she could reach out and hold him but didn't dare to. His constant stares caused a storm in her. Every emotion that she could think of was laid on display. If only she knew what he had on his mind. His presence was playing with her senses. From time to time, she met his eyes, and they seemed as if they would consume her as if she would cease to exist if he even talked to her. Both of them kept silent for a long time and the silence was deafening.

She knew that she was untruthful to him, and for that, he was indignant.
But the cold stares were driving her mad. Finally, she could bear it no longer," What is it?" she asked him.

He didn't say anything.

" Say what you want to say and be done with it." She stood from her place and went to him. He didn't budge and glared at her. She stood her ground and didn't move away from him. He got up at once, his eyes still piercing her and she staggered back.

" The audacity you have to ask me questions when you have left so many of them unanswered." He clapped back at her. He stepped closer, eyes still fixed on her, visibly furious.
" Lying to me, betraying my trust, making me believe that you were dead and then appearing out of nowhere only to lead me out of my home, away from my people." He held her by her elbows and stared down at her.
" Don't you think I have the right to be angry at you? How dare you?" He heaved.

" I had no choice--

"Oh, you had a choice," he interrupted," and you made your choice." He scoffed," You chose to lie to me and chose to deceive me. Do you deny it?"

" Adhiveer- " Uncle Bhairava tried to stop him.

" No, Uncle, do not protect her; she has to answer my questions." He spoke impatiently.

" I...I did what I had to..." She freed her arms from him and was about to say something when Uncle Bhairava interjected.

"This is not the time nor the place...

They heard footsteps outside the door. Shiva pulled out her daggers and took a stance facing the door.

Uncle Bhairava stood alert holding the hilt of his sword.

Adhiveer unsheathed his sword and moved towards the door. He pushed open the door and Sabu was standing outside.
