The king and his men had defeated the intruders. Most of them were killed, and only three men survived. They were taken as captives.

" The captives will be taken for interrogation. We have secured the villagers, they will be examined by the physicians shortly. The little children are the ones who have suffered the most. They were not even given food, they have become so weak." Sidhraj snarled." Adhiveer please permit me to punish these bastards personally."

The king nodded in affirmation." You can do whatever you want with them. They are not honourable men. People who use innocent people as their shields are the biggest cowards. Have you checked the perimeter for any runaways?"

"Yes, we did; these were the only ones who had infiltrated," Sidhraj replied.

"Take them away for now, starve them for weeks and give them no water for three days. Let's see how much bravery they have left." Adhiveer said.

His attention now went to the five people who were standing with Bhairava. She was standing right there with them. He walked towards them. Fixing his gaze on the woman who had stunned him. He was drawn to her. As he walked closer, his heart started pounding faster. He had fought many wars, battled with powerful, ruthless men, climbed mountains, trained rigorously, and had been injured so many times, but never had such a feeling gripped his mind before. He felt helpless and strong at the same time. When he reached, he couldn't say a single word; a long and awkward silence befell them.

Bhairava, realising the silence between them, uttered abruptly, " King Adhiveer, these are the warriors from the Chirca tribe, from the forest

Bhairava, realising the silence between them, uttered abruptly, " King Adhiveer, these are the warriors from the Chirca tribe, from the forest. They were the ones who helped us to reach the villagers from behind the building and helped us get them to safety. Please introduce yourselves."

All the warriors bowed down to him.
" My name is Bagha," said the tall, lean man standing in the middle," they are Shuri and Sabu, pointing to the men at his right, and they are Karali And Shiva." pointing to the women on the left.

'Shiva' Adhiveer mumbled. He couldn't look away from her.

"We are honoured to serve you, my king. We dwell near the mountains, on the eastern side of the Chirca forests. We had come down to the plains to gather a few medicines and herbs from the forest. We heard noises and saw that your men were rescuing people from the village. We thought we'd help."

Bhairava replied, " All of you are brave and honourable people; I am sure our king would reward you all for your good deeds." He looked at Adhiveer.

"Oh no, please my king. Do not shame us. We don't expect any rewards. Would you please honour us by visiting our tribe near the mountains? And give us a chance to serve you and your brave men." Bagha said.

Whatever Bagha said was only a murmur in his ear. He couldn't gather his thoughts, his heart was running wild. He didn't realise that he was holding his breath. He snapped out of it when Bhairava called out "My king, my king?"
