What would happen if you were appointed as a bodyguard for the person you were supposed to assassinate?
Adhiveer is a beloved king. Adored by everyone in his kingdom and beyond.

They were travelling for hours now. It was probably morning but there was no way to know it as the thick canopy of the forest covered the sky above them.
She was drowsy, one more tilt and she would go tumbling down her horse. Adhiveer rode closer, parallel to her and paced Indra, matching the pace of her horse. He could see that her eyes were closed and she was already asleep. He could only smile but then drew a serious expression and tapped her on her shoulder. She was awake and pretended that she was not drowsy at all.
" I am sleepy," he said, " we need to halt." And he stopped.
She looked visibly relieved. They got down, tied their horses to a tree nearby, took down all the supplies off the backs of their horses and began to tent. She had not spoken to him throughout the entire journey, she avoided eye contact and only answered when asked.
He wanted to apologise to her for the burst of anger in the tunnel when he had first seen her alive. But the hurt was too deep and he wanted her to realise that she had hurt him. He wanted her to know how he felt and voluntarily apologize to him on her own which seemed impossible because she refused to even look at him right now. Two separate tents added to the discomfort. She occupied his thoughts till the bright sunlight escaped from the leaves above and reached them. They packed up again and started their journey to the end of the forest.
He finally had enough." We cannot go on like this," he said loudly, cutting the silence between them. She snapped a look at him in shock. " We will have to search for a stream or something, or we will run short of water and food. We still have a day's journey to cover, to reach the other end on time," he said.
She still said nothing, only nodded in agreement. It hurt him more. " You have become so arrogant to not answer me with words. I am fine on my own. You are under no obligation to come with me." Saying this he sped up and rode in the direction of a stream nearby.
When he reached there he filled up the canteens which he had carried. He began to regret leaving her and hoped that she would follow him. He heard the trotting of a horse coming in his direction. He smiled.
" I am here under the order given by Uncle Bhairava. Once he relieves me, you don't have to suffer my company anymore." She said as she got down and started to fill the remaining canteens which she carried. And also handed him a few of the fruits which she had picked up on the way." And I am not being arrogant; I think it would be best if we keep the interaction between us to the minimum to keep both of our saneness intact. That way, I won't get on your nerves, and you would be out of my mind."

He grabbed her wrist." You think it's that easy to get me out of your mind?" He scoffed. " We'll see how you succeed at that." He smirked. At this point, he wanted to see how much he could push her before she would break.
After they travelled down the stream for a few hours they caught a few fish, cooked it and ate it. It was almost twilight when they reached the end. The journey was excruciating not for the road but for the company of each other. They took occasional taunts and jabs at each other. She was stubborn, and for some reason, he didn't mind it; he rather liked it. He missed her and was enjoying her frustration.
