"Death it is then" She heard him say. And the words set fire to her, rendering her to become nothing but ash. His piercing eyes were shredding every veil on her face.

Betrayal

Pain

Hate

Anger

Every emotion that could smother her was in those eyes. No one was to be blamed for her actions. But death? Did he want her death? She couldn't believe it; her breath caught in her throat, and her mouth fell dry. Silently accepted her fate and didn't defend herself.

"Death to the traitor," declared Rajveer, he ordered the guards to escort her to the prisons, and the king didn't stop them.

She was waiting for him to say something, the silence was heavy and crushing. At the back of her mind, she wished he had stopped them but he didn't. The guards didn't touch her; she went with them, not looking back at him. She walked in silence, waiting for him, yet not a single word, not one word, was heard from him. The walls of the court closed in on her and his presence was drifting far away. She walked out her head hung low.

After two flights of staircases, she was left in a dingy room. The walls of the room echoed loneliness and pain. The bars of the gate were closed shut, and the guard who was turning the key to close it looked at her questioningly, asking her if she had remorse. She chose to sit down in silence.

She sat in the corner of the prison cell and put her head between her knees.
After a while, the guards put Suhala in another cell in front of her. He was spitting with anger and agony. She blocked out his voice and sat there going through all that had occurred during the past few days.

She hoped that he would come and meet her at least once but he didn't. She waited and waited for him.

With you I find peace,
Tranquillity in the tempest of the sea,
But now that our world's part,
Tearing pieces of the heart.

A storm that carries me away
Thrashing and throwing,
Swirling around,
Smiling at my grief

Wings cut with sharp daggers,
Bleeding on the ground,
Making a trail which leads you to me,
A ray of hope that I see.

But alas this could not be,
Drowning in the endless sea,
Of sorrow and misery,
This is the end of me...©

"Shiva..." She heard Uncle Bhairava's voice.

She got up and reached the bars.
" I regret not telling him earlier," she cried.

" I don't know what to believe. I came to see if you are alright. Rajveer had convinced him to lay out your punishment. And Adhiveer... Hasn't said anything at all. He hasn't agreed to it or disagreed and I worry that they will carry out the death sentence. I hope I can talk to him before he decides to do anything."

" Won't the king at least meet me?" She croaked.

" He is hurt, I will try to talk to him." He said.

Suhala was shouting curses in the other cage. Bhairava commanded him to shut but he didn't heed to him.

"I will try to talk to him," Bhairava said again and left.
