After the wedding, Aditya and Roshni returned to their luxurious mansion, surrounded by opulence and grandeur. But the atmosphere was tense, and the silence between them was deafening.
"Aditya, can we talk?" Roshni asked, breaking the silence.
"Kya baat hai, Roshni?" Aditya replied, his tone distant.
"I just want to know what our marriage means to you," Roshni said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"It means a business partnership, a merger of interests," Aditya replied bluntly. "Don't expect romance or love, Roshni. This is a practical arrangement. Mohabbat ki zaroorat nahi hai, Roshni."
Roshni felt a sting from his words, but she tried to keep her emotions in check. "And what about us? What about our relationship?"
Aditya shrugged. "We'll co exist, Roshni. We'll attend social events, host parties, and maintain a perfect facade. But don't expect anything more. Hum sirf saath rehenge, Roshni, aur kuch nahi."
Roshni's heart sank, realizing that her husband saw their marriage as nothing more than a business deal. She felt trapped, suffocated by the weight of her new reality. "And what about intimacy?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "What about affection? Pyaar, ishq, mohabbat?"
Aditya's expression turned cold. "Don't expect affection, Roshni. This marriage is about power and status, not sentimental nonsense like love. Mohabbat ki bahut zaroorat nahi hai, Roshni." Roshni felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, but she refused to cry. She knew she had to be strong, had to find a way out of this loveless marriage.
As they stood there, locked in a tense silence, Roshni's mind raced with thoughts of escape. She thought about leaving Aditya, about finding a way to annul the marriage. But she knew it wouldn't be easy. Aditya had too much power, too much control. He had connections and influence, and she had nothing. Maine kuch nahi kiya, Aditya. Maine kuch nahi hai.
Roshni took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She knew she had to think clearly, had to come up with a plan. She couldn't let Aditya win, couldn't let him trap her in this loveless marriage forever. She thought about her friends, her family, but she knew she couldn't turn to them for help. Aditya had isolated her from everyone she loved, had made her dependent on him. Maine kuch nahi kiya, Aditya. Maine kuch nahi hai.
As the silence between them stretched on, Roshni felt a sense of desperation creeping in. She knew she had to act fast, had to find a way out before it was too late. But for now, she was stuck. Stuck in this mansion, stuck in this marriage, stuck in this life she didn't want. And Aditya stood before her, a constant reminder of her prison. Maine kuch nahi kiya, Aditya. Maine kuch nahi hai.
Aditya's expression softened slightly as he gazed at Roshni, his eyes lingering on her face. "Listen, Roshni, I know this marriage isn't ideal, but we need to make it work. For the sake of our families and our businesses, we need to present a united front. We need to show the world that we're a power couple, a team."
Roshni nodded, understanding the reality of their situation. She knew that their marriage was a merger of interests, a strategic alliance between two powerful families. But she couldn't help feeling a twinge of disappointment, a sense of loss for the romantic dreams she had once harbored.
"I know, Aditya," she said, her voice measured. "And I'm willing to play my part. But can we at least try to make this marriage work? Can we try to find some common ground, some way to connect with each other?"
Aditya's eyes narrowed, his expression skeptical. "I don't know, Roshni. I'm not sure I'm capable of... feelings. I've been focused on building my empire for so long, I'm not sure I know how to be a husband."
Roshni's heart fluttered at his words, a glimmer of hope rising within her. Maybe, just maybe, they could make this work after all. Maybe they could find a way to build a life together, to create a marriage that was more than just a business deal.
"But you'll try?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Aditya's gaze locked onto hers, his eyes burning with intensity. "I'll try, Roshni. For the sake of our marriage, I'll try."
As they stood there, locked in a tentative truce, Aditya's phone buzzed with an incoming text. He glanced at it, his expression changing from hesitant to calculating in an instant.
"Roshni, we need to get ready for the party tonight," he said, his voice firm. "The whole city will be there, and we need to make a statement. Our first public appearance as a married couple."
Roshni's heart sank, the weight of her new reality settling in. She was now a trophy wife, a prop to be paraded around at Aditya's beck and call. But she knew she had to play along, at least for now.
"Let's get ready, then," she said, her voice resigned.
Aditya nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Good. I'll send someone to help you get ready. We'll leave in an hour."
Roshni nodded, feeling like a pawn in a game she didn't understand. But she knew she had to play along, at least for now. She had to be the perfect wife, the perfect partner, until she could figure out her next move.
