The restaurant Jinx chose smelt of dirty socks and febreeze. We were guided into a small booth and given two menus, I quickly learnt that there wasn't much variety. Burgers or burgers or burgers or bacon. I set down the menu and smiled at Jinx, who looked much to giddy to be sitting in a crappy diner.

"Do you know what your gonna order?" I asked her politely. I wasn't satisfied with the diner, but getting out of the house and making her happy made all the difference.

"The bacon burger sounds delicious," She looked up from the menu and licked her lips jokingly. "What do you think?"

"I'll have something back at the apartment." I said, hopefully convincing enough.

"You sure?" She was doing it again. Her big puppy dog eyes filled with concern and her head cocked to the right.

I nodded reassuringly. "Ya. I'm actually craving, um, ice cream and, um, orange juice. Ya."

"Alrighty then." Jinx called over our waitress, whose speediness gave up for her poor attitude, and gave her the order.

"Have you gave any more consideration to talking to Gerard? Your first appointment is coming up in less than a week and I'm sure he'd at least like to know about it." Jinx folded her hands together and searched my face, hoping it would somehow give way to the answer she wanted.

"I definitely need to speak to him. I know. I need to somehow tell him. And soon, I do want him to be present at the appointment."

She nodded. "You should talk to him tomorrow. It gives him just enough time to decide whether or not he'd want to show up for the doctor's. Although if he's anything like you said, I'm sure he'd be glad to."

My heart picked up speed at just the thought of telling him, but I knew I'd been putting it off for far too long. "Okay."

Jinx, who was probably expecting a long response, just nodded and smiled to herself. Her food was set down in front of her, and the waitress loudly chewed her gum. Jinx completely dropped the topic and started to inhale her bacon burger.
