CHAPTER 9
| potential |

~~~
"okay...what if it's true?"
~~~

bakugos eyes narrowed even more than they usually were at the almost confession from the green haired boy infront of him.

"when you and i were kids, we both wanted to be like all might

but i...had the potential." sweat dripped from midoriya as the blonde continued, feeling the anger radiating off of him.

"and somehow a little nobody like you, was singled out by the person i admired most and i didn't even realise it!" bakugo was becoming more enraged by the second at the information he had been collecting finally being confirmed as true.

"that's why we are here.
we are settling this...
right here,
right now."

midoriya now realised why bakugo had brought him out here. "wait what!? i don't think that's the best way for us to work things out!" the green haired boy stressfully exclaimed with his arms outstretched trying to calm the furious boy in front of him.

"no this is bad! we aren't even supposed to be at ground beta by ourselves!" the boy frantically looked around trying to find a way out of the situation.

"why don't we talk about this in one of our free periods?" midoriya suggested not wanting to get in trouble for being out past curfew.

"we could reserve a training room or something! there's no reason it has to be right now!" izuku rambled which angered bakugo even more.

he clenched his teeth "if we fight for real at school we will be stopped." midoriyas eyes widened realising there was no way out of this. bakugo wanted to fight now, so they will.

"i want to know what made all might give his power to a loser like you." the blonde confessed

"let me see for myself"

all midoriya could do was stare at the boy in shock realisation hitting him.

"is it because you looked up to him more than i did? and if that's the case...does it mean everything i've done to be like him is wrong?" bakugo had a hint of sadness behind his questioning.

"no kacchan..."

flashbacks of them as kids looking up to all might flashed through their minds as they stared at each other waiting for one to make the first move.
