TW: This chapter is dark and brutal, (escpecially the second part) so if you are sensitive, just skip it. However the informations are quite important to understand the character. Of course you can choose if you want to read it or not.
I don't resist when they drag me towards the room of horrors. I don't know if it's really called that, but for me it is. There they make me forget everything for a while. It takes me a lot of willpower and a lot of time to remember. Even though sometimes I don't want to. It means remembering all the missions. All the faces, the pleading voices, the blood, their tearful eyes. Maybe they no longer exist in this world, but for me they do.
I think about everything I want to remember one last time as the machine descends on my head.
A single tear rolls down my cheek as the excruciating pain begins. My body starts shaking violently and I scream at the top of my lungs. The seconds follow one another slowly. Each marked by a cry of mine.
I want to die.
The helicopter that took me near Paide, Estonia abandoned me in the middle of nowhere. But I knew where to go. Hydra was clear. No survivors.
It was late at night and I couldn't see well, but having the super soldier serum has its advantages. I waited an hour for all the lights to go out and then waited another hour, to make sure everyone was asleep. With silent steps I slipped into the structure. My job this time was easy. I blocked all the stairway exits with furniture. The targets remain trapped upstairs. If they want to escape, they have to jump out. But they won't survive. I'll be outside, waiting for them. Luckily for me the windows of the building are all on one side and I will be able to see them all. I brought a few liters of petrol with me. I throw them on the floor and the smell invades my nostrils.
The lighter is suspended between my forefingers and my thumb. I look at the still intact building for the last time.
The flames are fast and I must admit that the same goes for the targets. They didn't wake up fast enough. When they do, the second floor is already on fire. They won't even try to get down. There remains only one choice. Jump.
The screams of terror merge with the crackling of the fire. And I wait like a hawk. Except they're on the ground. And they fly down to me.
The first target throws himself from the second floor screaming, but as soon as he hits the ground he never gets up again. I can already see the pool of blood forming next to him.
A few seconds later an explosion rocks the building. Lots of screaming and a burning corpse falls from the window. I don't need to do anything.
I wait, but the girdas do not cease. Someone jumped from the second floor. I see him crawl away. I don't hesitate for a second. One bullet is enough to make him stop.
Three more jump. I hear the neck of one snap, but the other two are alive. One even manages to run. I chase him, the other one has a broken leg. It can't go that far.
I grab the target by the neck. His hands grab mine, scratch me, but only when I see his soul leave his body do I leave it. I grab her by her brown hair and drag her to the others. The second target who broke his leg is still there. I drop the body on the ground and approach him.
"Palun," Please.
I grab him by the hair and force him to look at me. I take out a knife.
"Palun" he cries.
"Hail Hydra," I drive the blade down his throat to the hilt.
No one else manages to survive the jump. I burn the remaining corpses. It will look like an accident, a fire gone terribly wrong. My work is done.
And so I leave the burning orphanage.
