Y/N's POV:

Last night was terrifying until Shinobu stayed with me. Her presence was calming, I fell asleep straight away in her embrace as she comforted me by running her fingers through my raven hair. This morning we were called on a mission, apparently its a twelve kuzuki member. Me and Shinobu will be able to handle it, as long as it isn't an uppermoon. I said goodbye to Kanae and Mitsuri and ventured south with Kocho.
"I'm so tired man." I said while whining like a child. She giggled at my words before I stated, "Oh,and thank you for staying with me last night. It's just the memories keep coming back to remind me of what happened to my mother in some sort of twisted way."

I looked to the ground, feeling like I overspilled a little too much information.
"Oh? If you're comfortable, maybe you can tell me? If you're not, that is absolutely fine." She said reassuringly.
"Maybe later. But for now, we have gotta focus on this demon. Do you sense anything?" I said walking ahead of Kocho a little bit. CLING!! The sounds of two swords clashed and I unsheathed my sword, turning back to where Shinobu was standing.

She was head to head with a demon, also wielding a nichirin sword. Great timing. I jumped towards it but it lept away before I could connect my blade with its neck.
"Lowermoon 2. We can handle this right?" Shinobu said cheerfully. The demon scoffed at her words, almost as if he had a secret plan.
"Lightning breathing 4th form: Never ending bolts." I muttered. In a matter of seconds, bolts of electricity charged at the demon giving him a few scratches. Shit. This guy is tougher than I thought. "That all you got, little girl?" He mocked.

"Lightning breathing 8th form: Surging current." I chanted as electricity surrounded my blade, enhancing its power. I lunged at the moon and connected its neck with my sword. That was.. underwhelming I thought as its head collided with the ground. "Hey Shinobu, we got him." I turned back to where she last was, only for her to be nowhere near me.

I started to panic, where did she go? I scampered over to her last spot and noticed a trail of blood edging towards the trees. I unsheathed my blade and made my way over. Once I made it, I saw that familiar nichirin sword belonging to the insect hashira. Huh? It was then I noticed a note stuck on the hilt. Carefully picking it up, I was dumbfounded as I read it. 'If you try to follow us Lightning Pillar, I will not hesitate to eradicate your little butterfly. Don't worry, she will be safe. For now.."

Had she been taken while I was fighting? But how, I had only sensed Lowermoon 2's aura. Unless, it was a human? But who would have the guts to kidnap a hashira. This made no sense. I picked up the sword and sprinted back towards the butterfly mansion. I tried not to think the worst but...I was scared. Scared that I will get an announcement from my crow saying Kocho Shinobu had been murdered. My eyes brimmed with tears as I sprant as fast as I could.

Time Skip

"KANAE!! MITSURI!!" I screamed as I stumbled up the steps of the Butterfly mansion. Both were still planted on the couch, shock covering their once calm faces. "WHAT HAPPENED! WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING!" Kanae screamed as she sprang from her seat. "And where is my sister?" She finally added.

I was still panting heavily and fell backwards, making myself comfy on the hardwood floor. "She-she..." I was struggling to catch my breathing, mainly because I had just ran for an hour straight with no stopping but also because I was worried. "We were f-fighting lowermoon 2, I cut-" I took a deep breath as both women sat down next to me, genuinely looking concerned.

"I cut off its head, but when I turned around to look for Shinobu she was gone." I finally got out. "What do you mean by gone?" The eldest butterfly sibling asked me. "Like disappeared kind of gone. I didn't sense any demon presence or anything but I..found this in the trees with somebodies blood.." I handed Kanae the katana with the note still attached.

Horror struck her normally calm face as she audibly gulped. "We need t-to find her." She eventually said, her voice just above a whisper. Mitsuri looked so confused but could tell something bad had occured. "I'll tell master." The pink haired girl said, her usual cheery tone replaced with a serious one. I nodded and she stood up and headed straight for the entrance to the estate.

Kanae rose to her feet and questioned me, "How long did you look for?"
"3 hours. I checked further south, east and west. No sign of her. The culprit must be very fast to have gotten away that quickly." I answered, also rising from the floor. "No, you stay here. I shall look for her. Only come if the master orders you to, otherwise please, look after the estate." She smiled, not waiting for a reply as she sprant out of the house. How could I have been so careless? I should of stayed with her or atleast kept an eye on her. Wait. An idea popped in my head. The lowermoon I defeated, it sounded like it was almost mocking us..like it knew how it would go. Was he working with the one who abducted Shinobu?
