Chapter 11

Y/N's POV: Her patrol

After the meeting, I was confident I was going to find her. It didn't matter if it took all day or night I will find her. No matter what. I can't let Kanae down.

Running through the trees for what felt like hours and hours, I made it to the village. I had only checked here once or twice throughout all of my patrols, but something was pulling me to it tonight. Almost like it wants me there. Attempting to hide my nichirin blade in my haori, I started to wander around the place.

It was quite crowded, since there was a kind of festival going on I guess. A lot of people were gathering around a centre point. Without anybody noticing me, I hopped onto the roof of one of the buildings near me. I observed and observed but I could not see that certain purple haired woman.

I jumped back down and started asking people if they had seen her.
"Hi excuse me? Yes have you seen a black haired woman with purple on the tips, uhh about this tall?" I put my hand to the side of me near my chest.
"No sorry, I wish you luck in finding her though." The woman replied, sympathy covering her face.
"Ah alright, thank you." I smiled. She turned away and my expression turned into a frustrated one.

Still deep in thought, I spun around, wanting to walk in the other direction. I cut myself off when I saw someone in the distance. Her pleading eyes told me everything. It was Shinobu. I had found her. I scowled at the man next to her, simply grabbing onto her arm tightly; not wanting her to escape.

Before I could go over to her, the man next to her suddenly ran. She was startled by this, but she couldn't do much since she was being dragged. I followed them secretly, finally reaching an alleyway. What I saw will haunt me forever. Shinobu was pinned up against a wall by her neck while the perpetrator was screaming down her ear drums. Something about not eating all of her food, and that he paid for it?
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She pleaded. My heart broke when I saw her crying.

"You better be." He basically barked. Furry? Hatred grew for this abuser inside of me because of what he did next. He lowered his head down to her neck and started biting it. I couldn't take it anymore.

"Oi you fucking dickwad." I hopped down from the roof and glared at him. He lifted his head and finally let go of her. She slid down the wall in pain, tears still staining her cheeks.
"What the fuck did you just call me you bitch." He walked forward. This man is so pathetic.
"You can't treat her that way." I fought back.
"You don't get to tell me what I can and can't do with my girlfriend!" My fury grew more at his words.

I looked to the floor, walked towards him and gathered all of my anger into my fist. As fast as lightning, my knuckles connected with his nose, ultimately causing it to bleed. He stumbled back and held his broken nose, soon rushing towards me in attempt to hit me. I swerved out of his line of fire and tripped him. He fell face first into the dirty and dusty ground, causing him to groan in pain.

Seeing my chance, I dashed to Shinobu, picked her up bridal style, and returned to my position on the roof. Luckily my crow was flying above me.
"Go to the butterfly mansion, alert Kanae I have found her and making my way back at this moment!" The crow nodded and flew faster than I've ever seen it fly before.

"Y-Y/N?.." She whispered, looking into my eyes.
"Hey, you're safe now. We will be back soon. Please, sleep." I smiled softly at her and she nodded. Strange, she never stopped smiling. I couldn't think much about it though, I had to make sure I got back to the estate as fast as I could.

Kanae's POV:

Mitsuri had came over to help out with the patients. She hasn't been as bubbly since my sister disappeared; rightfully so.
"Hey Kanae, the patient is asking if he is allowed to eat yet." She peeked her head through my office door.
"Say he can in a couple of hours. He still needs to properly digest the medicine I gave him." (A/N: I know nothing about medical stuff so i'm sorry if this is inaccurate😭)

"So Kanae-san, since I have nothing to do tomorrow could I come over and help again?" The love hashira asked me as we walked out onto the deck.
"Of course! You don't need to-." I was cut off by a kasugai crow. It looked like Y/N's. It had a turquoise clip on the top of its head, shaped in a lightning bolt similar to the one she wears every day.

"CAWW!!! CAWWW!!! MESSAGE FROM Y/N TO KANAE KOCHO!!" The crow repeated the words that Y/N had said. "SHINOBU KOCHO FOUND IN SOUTHERN VILLAGE!! CAWW!!" My eyes started stinging as my gaze drifted back to Mitsuri. We shared a synchronised look, the same we did on the first day Y/N arrived, and hurried over to the gates. If Y/N was going as fast as she can, we need to be ready to retrieve my sister from her.

"Mitsuri! Shout to Aoi and say prepare a room for Shinobu!"
"Got it!" She ran back into the mansion. Looking back to where the forest started, I saw a figure running towards the estate full speed ahead. I finally had my sister back. Y/N had kept her promise.
