The Teenage Years of Scrooge McDuck

Chapter 7

That night me and Sophie got ready to go to the enchanted library when I forgot what I had to ask Sophie.

I had to ask her out or Crystal would kill me. She needed an answer. I have a crush on Sophie, but I'm scared she won't like me back. I'll get rejected and we'll never talk again or it'll be awkward.

"I'll say it when I get home," I whisper to myself

"Say what?" She asked me.

Curse me Kilts she heard me "Uhh nothing Sophie we gotta go to the enchanted library." I say punching her arm.

I could tell she thought something weird was happening but again she ignored it.

She touched the gemstone and it showed the enchanted library in a bright glow.

We jumped into the portal hoping to find something about Leonardo.

We ended up outside the library and Sophie ran to open the door but it wouldn't budge.

"Why won't you open!?" She yelled

I pulled her aside "Maybe there's a key we need to get we'll get back here later."

"You're right pretty boy," she said. "Where do we go?"

"I have no idea."

After I said that a woman about a little older than us not by much with brown hair in a bun and blue eyes walks by us with books in her hand.

"Wow, it's been a while since I've seen people here!" She said squealing

She put her hand out to me and Sophie and shook our hands "I'm Olivia!"

"Hey, I'm Scrooge McDuck."

"Sophie Buchman," Sophie said with a wave

"Nice to meet you two!" She said, "What brings you guys here?"

Sophie handed the Scroll to Olivia "Do you know anything about Leonardo Solace?"

Her face turned pale and her expression went from happy to upset and scared she dragged us into the library and locked the door "Why do you want to know about Leonardo?"

Sophie took her jacket off and showed her green markings "Because of this."

Olivia looked more shocked than before grabbing her arm "Oh my god I didn't even know this was possible. Someone like Leo."

"Leo?"

"My great grandfather's best friend," she said "he would talk about him all the time until.."

"Until what?"
"He trapped a monster in a realm for good that there was nothing but dust and water."

"Do you know more is there something else?"

"Yes but it's in my mother's office I don't know if she'll let us in there." she said and looked Sophie up and down "Or near you."

"Why wouldn't she want to be near Sophie?" I asked

"Because she has a lot of powers and Leo had told my great grandfather when he was alive his powers could become unstable and someone who has powers like his as his descendant could have even more powers than he could."

"Oh my god, so I could save the world?" Sophie asked, "And be a hero?"

"We have to sneak in there," Olivia said as she showed her glittery blue and pink book. "And I have a plan."

We followed Olivia around the building to find her mother who looked just like her in her office with her glasses on and focused on her book.

"Okay, you two sneak in there I'll distract my mom and tell her I found a new book, and here's the key." Olivia gave it to me "I'll meet you where we met."

"Good luck!!!!!" Olivia said waving us goodbye.

We hid waiting for Olivia to get her mom out of there and all I could think about was asking Sophie out. I had to or Crystal might kill me or do it for me.

"Hey Sophie why we wait I want to ask you something"

She looked at me her eyes shimmering "Yeah?"

"Um, I um." I didn't think I kissed her on the lips and she didn't hold back kissing me back it was one of the best memories I have.

I pulled away as I saw Olivia walk away with her mom "I'm uh sorry."

"It uh fine McDuck we gotta get that book," she said

Curse me kilts I made it awkward my biggest fear.

We snuck into the office and used the key to the vault and found the book that was bright green. We took it and ran out to meet Olivia.
That was way easier than I thought but I kissed Sophie and now she probably hates me.

I can't believe I did that.

Olivia found us outside the library and saw us with the book she let us back inside and we put the book on the table.

"Okay, so Alexandria you know her?"

"Yes, the Shadow queen?"I asked

"Yes Leo was her twin brother they were amazing but they got into a fight one day and went their separate ways."

"Why?" Sophie asked

"Leo was very very powerful more powerful than Alexandria. She was jealous and let out a monster by accident that tried to destroy him but he ended up having to sacrifice himself."

"Oh my god me and Alex are related!" Sophie said

"Yes, but Sophie we were warned there were people who wanted to manipulate you and use your power to end up opening the portal and to keep you safe."

"That's probably why my parents don't me outside." she said looking down "But I've been fine and I want to learn how to control them."

"I can help." Olivia said, "Just come to me whenever you like with this book it can help me understand your powers."

"Oh my goodness that would be amazing!" Sophie said as she hugged Olivia

Sophie and I headed back and waved goodbye to Olivia I tried to talk to Sophie but I wasn't going to because when we got back
