Okay, so I know it's been forever since I've updated, sorry <3
But I have a job now that keeps me crazy busy and I've been going out with friends whenever I get the chance. Also, I dyed my hair purple just because I could haha. Again, sorry, I love you all who care to read it <<33}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{}•{•}•{
"Ugh, I didn't think it would be this hard to see into joining an internship program," I groaned.
I'd decided to tell the group about my interest in medicine and, shocker, they were nosy and irritating and more interested than I was. Everyone, besides Carter and Mason, have been pestering me for the past two weeks. Yes, it's been two weeks since Mason and I have talked, Mar and Lakefield have become a couple, and Carter has also decided to shun me of in-depth conversations. However, I've been fine otherwise.
Mar frowned at me from across the kitchen, "Bail, you should've looked into this a long time ago. I know you have a lot going on right now, but-"
"Okay, I'm going to need more than the two cups of coffee, that I just had, to continue this conversation, mom," I interrupted with a sarcastic smile.
She gave me a condescending look, took my mug, and refilled it for me.
Drey walked in and took the mug from her, "I got your cream and sugar, sis. How's your research going?"
I raised my eyebrows, "Well, you're awfully not-so-Drey this morning."
She shrugged, "Haven't had coffee, yet."
"Ah, yes, the need for caffeine in the two of you is a must before your normal human interactions," Mar rolled her eyes. "Let's eat out for lunch?"
"We haven't even had breakfast," I reminded her.
She grabbed buttered scones from our pantry bowl and handed one to each of us. "Eat while we walk. Come on."
I put down my papers, shut off my laptop, and made it out of the house as she and Drey were just exiting the gates.
"We're all still in pajamas," Drey muttered, handing me my mug of coffee. I forgot she had it.
I drank fervently. "Why the sudden need for pizza so early, Mar?"
She shook her head, "I can't want pizza?"
"Hi, I'm supposed to be the condescending and bitter early morning one," I scoffed.
"Sorry," she shrugged, "It's just that we have only one week of school left, guys. I'm just excited to finally be done, you know? I'm more glad than ever that I decided to do the sabbatical, too."
"Gives you more time to suck on Lakefield's face?" Drey snickered.
I shook a finger at Mar jokingly, "Now, now, I'm not interested in the goings on of you young teenagers' public display of affection, missy."
"Duly noted, ma'am," she smiled.
"Hey, why didn't we take the car?" Drey complained.
"Because we're already here," I said, sipping at my coffee as we entered Randy's. We took our usual table.
Just as we sat down, Randy came around the corner.
"Hey, Randy, I'm surprised you're here!" I smiled at him.
He pointed at me as he spoke to Mar, "Why is she being nice?"
"Third cup of coffee," Mar nodded, pursing her lips.
I rolled my eyes, "So, you just decided to check on the place, or?"
He nodded, "I decided to work today. Not sure why, seeing as my employees know the place better than I do. I tell you, if you ever open a restaurant, just work in it as well. Makes things better."
