"We've done nothing since we've been here," Drey whined.
I just got through telling her that we weren't going to some mall that she'd been 'dying' to visit since day one.
Mar frowned, "If we really hadn't gone anywhere, we'd still have the eight hundred dollars we've spent going to and eating at places."
"Exactly and, most of the places we've gone, were your choice," I added toward Drey.
We'd only gone as far as Vancouver, British Columbia here in Canada, and we're now staying at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel. It was fancy and expensive, which gave me a headache the day we checked in. Just because we have the money, doesn't mean we need to spend it. Anyway, so far we've been to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Stanley Park, and the Vancouver Aquarium. We visited the suspension bridge around the time it was getting dark so colorful Christmas type lights lit the way across and were bunched up here and there on surrounding trees.
"Maybe Niko and I can go then, right? Since you guys are lazy craps," Drey pouted.
"Is that supposed to make us want to let you go?" Mason raised an eyebrow.
Niko nodded with a smile, "I think so, yeah."
Carter sighed loudly and threw himself onto Drey's bed. We were renting two rooms; Drey, Mar, Carson, Veronica, and I were in one room, and the guys were in the other. I was skeptical about this since I hated Veronica and Carter hated Mason but, so far we've been fine. Drey and I shared a bed, and Mar and Carson shared one. Veronica slept on the couch within the room (which was completely her decision, I swear). I had no idea what sleeping arrangement the guys came up with, but I was sure it was a 'whoever lands on the bed, gets it for the night' type of thing. Except for Lakefield. Because of his head still being fragile, he got a bed no matter what.
"Why don't we all just go our separate ways today? I mean, we have cell phones for a reason," Carter said.
Drey shook her head, "We never found out if our calls would be considered long distance since we're in Canada."
"We never even found out if they still call at all," Veronica muttered from the corner.
Lakefield chuckled, then scowled when it cause him pain, "We suck at traveling, guys."
Veronica handed him a glass of water, which he frowned at before taking it and chugging down its contents.
"Hey, maybe you should just rest for today, Lakefield. I forgot for a second that your head was so bad," Mar noticed.
I nodded with a frown of my own, "Yeah, if my leg is hurting this bad, I can't imagine what your actually feeling."
So, while we were all getting ready to go to the mall, Lakefield fell asleep on his own bed, while Veronica sulked in the corner.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked, trying to put on my gladiators.
She scoffed, "I love my brother, no matter my families' mistakes, but I don't really want to stay here in a room while he sleeps all day."
"I'll stay," I shrugged, releasing the gladiator from my hand.
She laughed, then frowned when she saw I was serious. "Why?" she asked.
I sighed, "Because I'm in pain, but there's no way in hell that I'm going to be the reason everyone stays back. So, you're going to go with them, and I'm going to stay here for Lakefield."
"Oh, really?"
I turned and rolled my eyes at Mar, who showed up out of nowhere (it can be a talent between the lot of us, really).
