The group, Lakefield, the twins, and the new twins were all gathered in my living room. I wanted to get to the bottom of what the hell Carson just told me.

"What the hell do you mean she's your sister?" Drey argued, pointing an accusing finger at Carson and Mason.

Mason looked completely bored as he leaned against the mantel of the fireplace. "What part of 'she's our sister' did you not comprehend?" he asked. He wiped the top of the mantle, examined his finger, then flicked away the dust on it.

"Watch yourself, punk," Carter growled at him. He was standing beside me with his arms crossed, all jealous that I found Mason attractive for an asshole, but he wasn't admitting it.

"Punk? I'm two years older than you, punk. You should watch yourself," Mason replied hard. The navy blue blazer, the black V-neck, and the navy slacks he was wearing made him look insanely hot, to be honest. Too bad he was such an ass.

"I don't care how old you are, I'll kick your ass if you don't show some respect. You want it, give it," I snapped at him. I turned to Carson, "Please explain more?"

She gave Mason a look that made him roll his eyes and lean on the mantle again. She then gave me a smile, "So, apparently Amara was never completely orphaned or abandoned. My parents were just so young and thought that Mason and I were already too much to handle. If we hadn't screamed our lungs out, she would've put us up for adoption with Amara. My mom... She couldn't stop crying when we left Amara at the adoption agency."

"Holy shit," Niko muttered, running a hand through his hair in disbelief. "What, now you just want to come here and take our friend- no, not friend. Our sister? I get that she's your biological sister but, if you knew about this all through the years, why only now have you decided to check on her?"

"Dad wouldn't let them near me," Mar said quietly, eyeing me and Drey. "I found some papers in dad's room and found out that Carson's mom- my mom- had been sending me birthday cards, letters, Christmas cards... But dad never gave them to me."

"Are you trying to make him seem like a dick!?" Drey snapped at her, but still had a soft edge to her tone seeing as we might lose Mar at the moment.

I held Drey's arm before she could get to Mar. "Let her finish, Drey," I said firmly. She scoffed and walked away from me to the farthest part of the room, away from everyone that gathered.

"I'm not saying he's a dick for doing that. I know he did it because he was scared that I'd want to leave you guys and live with my biological family again. But I never would have left you guys," she finished. "I'm the one who called Carson and Mason. I've been talking to them for almost two weeks now, and I decided I wanted to meet them and... And my mom."

"But you're coming back, right?" Jason asked, sounding desperate. I don't blame him. None of us wanted to lose Mar.

She smiled tightly, "Of course, you idiot."

I saw a tear forming in her eye and it tugged at my heart. "Mar... I'm happy you found your family. I understand if you want to go but... I also don't want you to be hurt over the fact that your mom gave you up," I said.

"Are you trying to make my mom out to be some heartless, no-good mother?" Mason growled suddenly, stepping forward.

When he got too close, I lunged my fist out toward him. He dodged it then grabbed my wrist, twisting my whole arm behind my back. I counter attacked by kicking his shin then elbowing his stomach. I was about to try and punch him again, but Carter pulled me away by my waist.

"Enough, Bail," he grunted as I thrashed.

"Mason, stop!" Carson ordered of him.

He stood up, not even looking like what I did to him had hurt, and went back to being practically a statue by the mantle. "Whatever," he scoffed.
