"You've never applied to anywhere?" Mar asked me incredulously. "Um, what exactly were you planning to do, live off of dad's money?"
I shrugged, "I hate to play the whole 'My daddy was rich' thing, but I just don't know what I want to do yet. I'll just be taking a sabbatical."
Drey frowned, "Well, I never applied anywhere, either. Looks like you and I were on the same page."
"Seriously? The two of you missing out on any type of school for a year? I highly doubt that you'll even want to go to college after a year of doing nothing," Mar scoffed.
"Look, dad wanted us to get through high school, Mar. I did my job in making sure that each of us did. Maybe he never actually said that he wants to go to college, but that's the thing: He didn't actually say it. So, technically, I'm not obligated to go to college, and you can't use dad's word against me," I clarified.
Drey nodded in agreement as a knock sounded on Mar's bedroom door.
"Come in," Mar said, looking through the brochure for NYU again.
The door opened and Carter stepped into the room. "Uh, hey," he said quietly.
I jumped off of the bed and walked up to him furiously. When he stood tall and welcomed any pain inflicting methods I could use, he wasn't prepared for my hug.
"The next time you disappear, I'll hire a private team to get you, bring you to me, then I'll kick your ass so bad, you won't be able to be identified in the morgue," I frowned when I pulled away.
He looked surprised, "We fought... I felt bad about it but I thought you were too pissed to forgive me. I never answered your calls because I thought you'd tell me to just leave."
Mar came up beside me, "Since when would she ever actually let you leave, even if she told you to?"
He smiled at Mar and gave her a hug. Drey came up and he hugged her, too.
"Have you talked to Jason?" I asked.
He frowned then slowly shook his head.
I turned him around and shoved him out of the room, "Well, then get the hell out of my house and go find him. Move it, Reynolds."
As soon as he left, I sighed, "Guys, I don't know what to do."
"Well," Mar said, "First of all, you have to tell Carter you love him, then tell Mason you love Carter, but you also love him as well. Then, you need to find out which guy you actually can't imagine holding another girl in his arms. Picture one or the other-"
"Um, I don't love Carter, so plan B?" I interrupted her.
She and Drey made eye contact then looked back at me.
"Um, we have no other plan because you do love Carter, even if it's a teeny bit. As soon as you admit it, your decision will get sort of easier to make," Drey shrugged.
I groaned and decided to stuff my face with ice cream to vent to myself, seeing as these two were being ridiculous. In the kitchen, Mason was reading some book in the booth with a bowl of grapes in front of him. Deciding that grapes were healthier than ice cream, I sat across from him and stole his grapes.
"Oh, did you want some grapes, Harrison?" he frowned sarcastically, putting the book down.
I popped a grape into my mouth and just stared.
He let me stare, he could already tell I was thinking, and simply ate some grapes and waited until I was ready to talk.
I sat up straight, "Can you picture me with another guy?"
