Do you like the new cover or should I make a different one?Chapter 9
His eyes watch me carefully as I carelessly toss my bag onto the couch. "So what do you usually do around here." I slowly peel my eyes away from my bag, his dark eyes on me, filled with curiosity. The slight hint of stubble across his jaw.
"Nothing really." I slump onto the couch and roll the television remote in my hand. He doesn't look so convinced as one of his eyebrows slowly raise but he still manages to hold a cocky grin on his face.
"You have to do something with all this free time." He chirps as his hands go to rest on the couch. I watch him with slits for eyes. That smirk bothering me.
"I really don't do much." I hiss with annoyance. His paces around for a little before it looks as if a light bulb as gone off in his head. Baggy jeans hang dangerously low on his waist.
"Well you have nothing planned so we will do something I want." Asher smiles, those red lips lift up effortlessly, nothing appearing on my face. His smile short lived as he looks slowly over my face. "Alright then." He mumbles before he bring back a full blown smile onto his face.
"Come on then." Asher easily swings open the door and leads me from my house to his sports car. The front round with a black leather seats. His hand go to run through his silky looking hair my eyes can't seem to look away. I advert my eye as he casts a sideways glance my way.
"Nice car." He smiles at my comment and like a gentleman opens the door for me. I feel slightly flattered by the gesture but I quickly whip the thought from my mind.
The car rumbles to life but drivers smooth unlike my rusty Beatle. I suddenly realize the destination as I look over the familiar landscape. "So your house then." The large house looms in front of us. The house looks just as amazing as the first time. Lights brighten the front windows as we pull up. He glances over at me with a smile before the garage door swings open.
"So what did you said your dad did again." I mumble as marble floors rest under my feet. He chuckles as I look over all the car parts that hang from the walls. The room bigger than my own house.
"He owns a car shop down the road." I nod put but I don't really believe him.
The car makes a sound as Asher presses a button on the keys. The front lights flash. We walk into the room we spoke in in the first place, the kitchen. I jump slightly as a small plump women comes out from around the corner, her brown hair tied up in a small bun. "Good afternoon Mr. King." The older women smiles at Asher before turning her gaze to me.
Milky eyes wonder slowly up from my boots to my scruffy jumper, the sound of her tongue as it makes a subtle click makes me frown.
A weird expression lifts onto her face. "Now who is this." A thick accent graces her voice as she slowly looks me over.
Asher slides his gaze to me. "Just a friend Ann." Ann nods slowly but by the look on her face she doesn't like me much. That's no surprise.
Ann leaves the kitchen but not without giving me another side glance. "She doesn't like me." Asher chuckles slightly as I stare at the door she left through.
"It takes a while for her to warm up to people." He laughs as he sees the sour look on my face. I slowly bring my eyes down to my chipped gray nails.
"Frankly I don't think she'll ever 'warm' up to me." I slide into a bar stool as Asher grabs two glasses and fills them both with water. A smile peals onto his face. He glance down at the glass he set in front of me before looking back up.
