Chapter 13

I wake up with a cramp in my neck. My back still pressed against the door. That feeling of loneliness in a house full of people was normal but this time it wasn't people who I'd grown up with it was people who've never known me for me.

That odd little creature that people find weird, to weird to touch but just interesting enough to watch for a while. Almost as if we're at the zoo but without the cages.

Oh god what am I going to do with everyone downstairs.

I should jump out the window maybe live in the woods with the squirrels, at least they can't judge me with words. God why am I even here, of course Olivia say yes to staying at the weird man house of course that's not creepy.

Oh! Even if he has the same defect, let's all ride the train to crazy town why don't we.

Gargling under my breath I get my lazy butt of the floor and limply pull the top of my shirt to my nose. God I smell like the inside of a stale bag of chips.

Pulling open drawers I find pairs of jeans and multicolored tops, all in my size. Not creepy at all, I sign with sarcasm. I pull the first pants I find slipping them on but not without feeling uncomfortable about the whole knowing my size thing.

A simple blue top to go with the jeans, nothing fancy. I try to take as long as possible before walking into a group of strangers.

Walking into the bathroom, I freeze mentally and physically, a large tub connected to a massive shower created from marble.

Oh god. I'm out of place. Washing my face with the extremely nice looking soap I quickly brush my ratty hair and leave the bedroom with a lump forming in my throat.

Walking into the kitchen I'm greeted with stillness. I look through the passageways to the other rooms, all empty.

"Good morning." I spin around and my eyes land on the maid. She frowns at me evenly. Brown hair piled on top of her head with a fake gold looking pin.

"Did everyone leave." I ask as glance around the kitchen. The fridge glaring at me. Her flower dress catches my eye because all the color seems out of place in such a neutral colored house.

"No, not everyone, just mostly everyone. But you really got to get yourself some friends chica or a life because honestly you're alone." The women chuckles as I feel extremely offended at her loud and honest remark.

"Chads waiting for you in his study." She chuckles again before walking out her heel clicking on the marble floors and I feel just as uncomfortable and more uneasy as I had coming downstairs.

Slowing walking down the hall to Chads office my steps echo loudly, a drum like rhythm.

Large pictures hang from the walls all with smiling face, faces that don't live in this town and abilities that should only ever be seen in movies and crappy books that are found in the dollar store.

Books with heroes that have beautiful blonde hair and tight pants that make their asses look great, they save the day with an equally appealing guy to tag along.

Crap if you ask me.  But who's really asking?

I can't help but stop at a picture of a tall elegant women in a red dress, a large white smile plastered on her face. Nothing like I'd ever seen before, as she stands alone in the picture. Something powerful about her, a women anyone would listen to. Someone i envy without even knowing.

Passing the picture I end up at the end of the hallway with one door left slightly ajar, a long stand of light escaping the gap. A rough voice seeping through.
