Dipper's POV

I screamed into my pillow when my phone started ringing again. Mable and everyone else aside from Wendy kept calling me. None of their text messages suggested that they wanted to apologize, so I've been ignoring them. I've been spending weeks working on getting used to being a demon and working on some magic with Bill, but I'm terrified about what would happen if any of them found out.

I sat up a bit when I felt a warm hand on my back. Bill gave me a soft smile, obviously trying to offer some form of comfort even though he didn't know what was going on.

"Want to talk about it?"

I sighed and rolled onto my back, so I was looking up at him. "I keep getting spammed with calls and texts from everyone at the shack. I don't know what to do..."

"You can always block them. Or maybe answer one of them," He suggested, running his fingers through my hair.

"Fine. I'll answer Mable the next time she calls," I said, grabbing my phone once more.

"Would you like me to stay? I can leave if you want to talk to her alone."

He's so thoughtful... I think as a blush appears on my cheeks. I gently grab his hand. "Stay, please."

Soon enough, my phone rings once more. The caller ID read Mable, so I answered it. I pulled my phone away from my ear when I heard her loud voice and just decided to put her on speaker so Bill could hear her too.

"Dipper! Finally, I was worried you were going to ignore me forever!"

"Hi Mable, what do you want?"

"I was just hoping to talk to you, and maybe see if you wanted to come home?" She said, I sighed.

"I'm not coming home, Mable. I'm fine here with Bill, and I'm starting college in a few weeks. Besides, I don't feel welcome there anymore."

"Don't say that Dipper. We all want you to come home."

I sighed, "I'm not moving back, but I'm willing to compromise. I'll make a quick visit, but Bill is coming with me. If any of you try to hurt him, you can forget trying to contact me again."

The phone was silent for a moment until Mable smoke once more. "Okay... sure. Today?"

"Tomorrow."

Her voice became cheery once more. "Awesome! See you tomorrow, Dip Dot!"

"Don't call me that." And with that, I hung up. This was a bad idea...

~☆~

Bill gently squeezed my hand as we stood in front of the shack. As badly as I wanted to run away and go back to the Fear-a-mid, I wasn't one to go back on my word. Bill rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb, giving me a comforting smile and a reassuring forehead kiss before I knocked on the front door.

Mable was the one to answer, immediately tackling me into a hug. Bill looked like he was about to drag her off of me, so I put my hand up to stop him. It's been a while since she's seen me, so I expected something like this to happen.

"I'm so happy to see you, Dipper!" She said, tears of joy running down her face. I honestly had to try not to cry too. Just because we left off on a bad note doesn't mean that I didn't miss her or anyone else. I patted her back, my usual signal that I wanted her to let me go. "Ack! I'm sorry! I should've asked first." She turned to Bill, smiling at him as well, which I wasn't expecting. "Hi, Bill. C'mon in, you two!"

I grabbed Bill's hand once more and the three of us walked inside. Everyone turned to look at me. Everyone mostly seemed happy to see me, aside from Grunkle Ford, but seemed scared or wary of Bill, which was understandable.

We got greetings out of the way rather quickly, and thankfully Wendy, Soos, and Pacifica said hello to Bill as well. Grunkle Stan refused to acknowledge Bill and Grunkle Ford was just staring at us both.

The day went by pretty well. It was nice to just catch up with everyone. But unfortunately, I can't have nice things for too long.

Once I got back from grabbing a drink, I sat back on the couch behind Bill, who seemed happy sitting on the floor. I cracked open the soda can and ran one of my hands through Bills hair. He was being ignored by most people aside from me, so I still wanted to make sure he got some attention. Grunkle Ford didn't particularly like that. Apparently, showing affection to my boyfriend was his breaking point.

"Are we all just going to ignore the fact that the demon who tried to kill us is sitting right there?!"

I looked at him with an unphased expression. I knew this was going to happen, but I still wasn't happy that he was treating Bill like this. I feel like he's proven that he isn't here to cause harm.

"He isn't causing issues, Ford," Grunkle Stan said.

"None of us are bothered by him, Grunkle Ford. Please don't do this..." Mable said, as if she knew the second any issues arose that I was going to leave.

"Oh, I'm sorry that I'm bothered by the presence of a demon on my house. Much less my great nephew dating him! Actually, I'm instating a new rule, no demons allowed in the shack!"

I sighed and stood up, pulling Bill to his feet. I walk around to everyone, giving them a hug and saying goodbye.

"Wait! Dipper!" Mable said. "Maybe, just for a little while, Bill can go, and you can stay? If it's okay with Bill, of course."

I sighed and shook my head, "you heard him, Mabes, no demons in the shack."

"But you're not a demon! You're a human!" Mable said, tears threating to spill.

I rubbed the back of my neck nervously, "About that..."

it was silent for a moment until, Grunkle Ford spoke once more. "What did you do to my nephew, Cipher?!"

"Don't look at me, it was Pinetree's choice. I checked with him several times before I did anything."

"Don't blame this on Bill, he only did what I asked him to do."

Grunkle Ford sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I want both of you out, Mason. Don't come back."

"Grunkle Ford, you can't be serious!" Mable said, but at that point, Bill and I were already out the door.
