"When are you going back home?" Remi asks, flipping through his book. I dropped Connor and his sister off at the pack house a bit ago, and I wanted to give them space to adjust before I was glued to my mate.

"Shortly. Just trying to give him time"

"By annoying me?" Remi asks, looking up at me.

"You're all I have" I narrowed my eyes on him. "Unless you want me gone?"

"Nah. You're all i got, too"

"Are you scared to meet your mate?"

"Nah. I know it'll be the right person at the right time. Or I hope anyway. I don't want to put too much pressure on it. I want a happy ending, of course. But I also have a lot going on up here" he taps his temple. "And now I'm being forced to train to be a Beta. So i don't have time to worry about it, honestly"

"There's no one else, I'd just like to trust you to be my beta" I admit. "Plus you can protect Rhys"

"Don't bring him into this" he grumbles. Remi is very protective of his little brother. I am too, honestly. Rhys is a special guy. He has a very big heart, and cares so much about everyone and everything. He isn't always vocal, but he does things to show he cares.

"I know you're not thrilled about the Beta role, but I think you're fitting. I think you're the only one capable of it now, honestly. You deserve more credit then you give yourself"

"Yeah yeah. You're sucking up to me"

"A little" I grin, and he throws a pillow at me.

"Where have you been?" Connor asks, as he paces the small living area.

"You okay?" my brows furrow, and he looks frantic.

"I have no way to contact you- and you just left us here!"

"He's having a mental breakdown," Connor's sister, Sarah, says. "I tried to calm him down but sometimes he just can't"

"Don't talk about me like I'm not right here" Connor snaps, and paces further. He runs his fingers through his hair frantically.

"Can you give us a moment?" I ask, and Sarah nods.

"I'll go explore" she smiles small, and heads out. Connor's eyes are wild, and his hair is a mess from tugging and running his fingers through it.

"You're having an emotional outburst" I said calmly.

"I get them all the time" he pants, picking up his pace. "It's not even that emotional, anyways!"

"You're frustrated or angry you couldn't get ahold of me, and acting out. Frustration or anger is an emotion, Pretty Boy. It's okay though. I'm here "I murmured, stopping his pacing. My fingers wrap around his wrist, and I pull his fingers from his hair.

"I'm frustrated- how do you know all this?" his eyes flick all over. From my face, to behind me, to my body. To where we connect.

"Emotional outbursts are common with people who have personality disorders" I say the words slowly, in an even tone.

"Wh-what's a personality disorder?" His voice is frantic, and he tugs at my arms.

"A personality disorder is a mental health condition where people have a lifelong pattern of seeing themselves and reacting to others in ways that cause problems. People with personality disorders often have a hard time understanding emotions and tolerating distress." I recite the words I've read over and over again since figuring out it could be what he has.
