Chapter Forty

Epilogue

6 months later

Connor

Louis and Jamie are officially one month old. They both have a dusting of red hair and I love it. After I had the twins, Ana's became more.. Obsessed? With me. She always wants me to hold her or talk to her. She isn't jealous, it's more so like she's scared to lose me. Or scared I wont be around.

Ethan is obsessed too. He's always touching me or checking in on me. Wondering what I'm up to and things like that.

Things have been a constant flow. The second pack is done and people are moved in and happy. But we keep getting more and more wolves daily. It's getting to the point where we are going to be doubling our population in 2 years.

Remi has an idea to extend out of the gated community and we think it's a great idea. Rem wants to merge more with the humans and Ethan thinks it's a great idea because it expands out chances to find our mates.

We think it's a great idea, it's just going to take time to get under control. The new wolves constantly coming is actually becoming more of a routine if anything.

Xan and I are cleaning the house to hoist our first house party. Remi, Rhys, Knox, Xan, Branson and Noah and Willow with her little family.

The house is almost cleaned and ready. Ethan and Knox went to pick up food. The kids are outside playing until we're done cleaning, so it makes it even nicer. We take a couple hours to clean, and then we're hosting a party.

We have pizza, pasta, chips and all sorts of sides. We have plenty of drinks, and it feels good. Everyones talking, and we're all catching up. Everything is going well. Remi comes over to Ethan and I, slightly frantic.

"I guess there's a lot of wolves at the border, we have to go. They said there's other wolves who were not friendly who followed. They need back up."

"Okay get my dad, as soon as Sarah gets home we can meet up with you and Max" Ethan tells him, and Remi nods.

"Okay. Hurry!" He yells, as they get Branson and Noah and all head out. We are only 15 minutes behind them, and then we're heading out too. We shift, and take off to the border where this chaos is happening.

We make it to the border.

But it was too late.

We shift, and Ethan is falling to Remi's side. "What the fuck happened?!" Ethan yells out.

But there's so much blood..

"Ethan.." I murmur, and Ethan is crying, and holding Remi close to his body. Max is in his wolf form, tearing apart that last of the threat. Then he shifts, and he's standing behind Remi, tears flowing down his cheeks.

"Get help!!" Ethan roars, and he doesn't let go of Remi.

"Kn-knox-" Xan's broken voice fills the emptiness of the field, and my heart breaks.

"Angel.." Knox catches Xan before he crashes to the floor. Everything else happens in a blur.

We get Remi to the hospital, and he's stable, then crashes. Then he's stable again. He's all over the place, and he lost a lot of blood. One second he's okay and the next he's flatlining. We're all a wreck, crying in the waiting area. Xan can't keep it together, and I don't blame him. His son might not make it.

I know in my heart he will, but something about this feels like something much, much bigger is coming. 

....

SO.

This does end on a cliff hanger lol. I had the ending planned with thoughts Remi having his own story. Things with the wolves coming to the border was never meant to be solved in Ethan's book. It was always meant for Remi's, and I didn't want to rewrite that. 

Maybe someday we can come back to Remi and Max! But for now, goodbye Williams family!
