Chapter Thirty Nine

Ethan

We're at Xan and Knox's house, sitting in the kitchen while Xan gets us drinks. I know however Xan reacts to this news will make or break this experience for Connor. He takes what Xan says so deeply and I know it would make him so happy if Xan was happy.

"So I was going to ask if you'd babysit Rhys this weekend? Knox and I are going away for the weekend-"

"Of course" Connor cuts him off. "I don't need a reason. I love them. And you. Like, a lot. You mean the world to me.."

"You mean the world to honey." Xan pauses what he does, "Always"

"I'm pregnant"

Xan stares at him. "What?" his brows furrow. "I-am sorry but that math isn't mathing-"

"We slept together at Southeast Inn" Connor blushes, and Xan squeals.

Squeals.

"How far along are you then?"

"Four months"

"Holy shit"

"With pups. Twins"

"Holy Shit"

"Stop it" Connor whines, and Xan quickly makes his way over. He throws his arms around Connor and hugs him tightly.

"I'm so excited for you babe. You deserve all the good things. You deserve this" Connor sniffles, and clings to Xan a moment longer.

"Knox!" Connor yells, and Knox appears a few moments later. Before he can say anything, Connor says "I'm pregnant"

Knox's brows shoot up, and then he smiles and comes over and hugs Connor. "Wow kid. That's amazing" He pulls away, then hugs me next. "Congrats E. How do you feel?" Knox asks, and I chew my cheek.

"I am so fucking excited. I can't wait. I love our kids, but we never had the baby experience with them, so I'll be excited to have that. I just hope the kids take it well. I hope they know we didn't plan this"

"I don't think they'll take it poorly" Knox says, "Ana would love to be a big sister. Zach is too smart for his own good"

"He's been showing interest in being Alpha" I grin, pride surging through me and our bond. I feel the same pride being pushed right back to me.

"No shit? Really?"

"Oh yeah. I had to do some stuff for our new members so I had to bring Z with me. He was so hands on and talked to the little kids. He talks like he's so much older. I think he will be an amazing Alpha"

"Can- Can he be?" Xan asks.

"He better be able to. He's my son. He's my first kid. My first born. The rules are first born child"

"But it's a bloodline thing.." Knox says.

"There is no specific rule stating it has to be your bloodline. We all assumed our mates could get pregnant to continue our bloodline, but that doesn't mean adopting isn't a thing."

"But it's called the alpha gene.. So you have to have it passed on?"

"Not if he works hard and can beat anyone else. If he can be dedicated then he can have it."

"That's true," Connor pipes in. "That's how families get overthrown and blood lines take over. It's how your great great great grandfather took over. "

"Anyway- we're off track now" Xan waves us off. "I'm so excited! Do you guys want more after this?"

"I do," I nod, "I want a big family."

"I'd be okay with one" Connor smiles small, and i can't help myself. I pull him into me, and kiss him deeply.

My man.

My mate.

Now we tell Rem.

"Pups? Twins?" Pop looks surprised, but I see the small smile forming. He's trying to act stern, or something. But you can see the happiness in his face.

"That's amazing Connor" Dad says, and Connor stares at him for a moment.

"What you did.. You did it for me. In my book, you did the best thing you could. I'm not mad anymore. Thank you" It's a little all over the place, but we get the point of it.

"Thank you" Dad murmurs, and Connor hugs him. It's slightly awkward, but the love is there.

"We're so happy for you!" Pop says, before hugging me.

Sarah is home and the kids are playing in the living room. Connors on the couch waiting for me, and then we're telling the kids.

I've been so fucking estatic all day with telling everyone.

I finish my shower, and get dressed quickly. When I head into the living room they're all there.

"Pizza!"

"I like the saucy chicken and rice"

"Mcdonalds!"

Everyone laughs, and I smile as I sit beside Connor. "We're doing take out tonight?" I ask, and Connor nods.

"I'm craving something good. I want a little bit of everything" he decides, so that's what we do. We all come up with our meals and it's like a fun little activity. Then we go out and get it, and we all have a really good time going into different places. It doesn't take that long but it's a fun little thing to do while we're out.

We head back home, and all sit in front of the TV to watch a movie. It's a good night, and I'm happy Connor's here. That we can all be here together.

After our bellies are full and the movie ends, I'm the one to blurt it. "Connor's pregnant. We're going to have another pup running around in 5 months" I say it all, and everyone instantly starts yelling.

In excitement.

I swear I'm soaring on cloud nine. I don't think ive ever been so fucking happy. Thanks to the moon goddess, I got the love of my life, the father of my children. All four of my babies.

We spend our night as a family together. Sarah is graduating early and going to a college out of state. We're excited for her but obviously worried.

When we head to bed my body is buzzing with adrenaline from all the exciting news from today. We get ready for bed but I'm antsy and ready to pounce someone.

"I have something to tell you. I got accepted into an online schooling program for a social working degree" Connor beams happiness at me when he says it, and I think I might just explode from all the good news happening today.

I round the bed, and pull my mate to me. "I'm so proud of you Pretty Boy. You're amazing."

"Thank you, E. It means a lot to me" Connor kisses me, and it's sweet and gentle. But I'm pulling away.

"I gotta call my dad and tell Knox and Remi. Oh and a couple of the girls at the clinic!" I yell as I head to the living room for my phone. 

....

Ethan being so excited about it all makes my heart so happy. I love it. Also him needing to tell everyone lol.
