The snow had started falling the night before, blanketing everything in a serene white. Taylor woke up to the soft glow of morning light reflecting off the snow outside the window of their cozy cabin. She smiled to herself, knowing that today would be a perfect day to stay in and enjoy the winter wonderland with Travis.
She slipped out of bed and padded to the kitchen, where she started making breakfast. The smell of pancakes and freshly brewed coffee soon filled the cabin. As she was setting the table, she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist.
"Good morning, beautiful," Travis murmured into her ear, planting a soft kiss on her neck.
"Good morning, babe," she replied, turning around to give him a proper kiss. "I hope you're hungry. I made your favorite pancakes."
Travis grinned. "You always know how to spoil me, Tay."
They sat down to enjoy their breakfast, chatting and laughing as the snow continued to fall outside. After they finished, they decided to bundle up and head out to explore the snowy landscape.
Dressed in warm coats, hats, and gloves, they stepped outside. The world was silent except for the crunch of snow beneath their boots. They walked hand in hand, their breath visible in the crisp air.
"I love it when it snows like this," Taylor said, looking around at the glistening trees and the unbroken blanket of snow. "Everything feels so peaceful."
"Yeah, it's like the world slows down for a bit," Travis agreed. "Perfect day to just relax and have some fun."
They made their way to a nearby hill, where they spent the next hour sledding down and climbing back up, laughing like kids. At one point, Taylor tried to tackle Travis into the snow, but he easily picked her up and twirled her around before gently setting her down.
"You think you can take me down, huh?" he teased, brushing a stray snowflake from her nose.
"Maybe next time," she giggled, shaking the snow from her hair.
After their sledding adventures, they decided to build a snowman. They worked together, rolling large snowballs and stacking them to form the body. Travis found some rocks for the eyes and mouth, while Taylor used a carrot for the nose and wrapped one of her scarves around the snowman's neck.
"Perfect," she said, admiring their creation. "We should name him."
"How about Frosty?" Travis suggested with a grin.
Taylor laughed. "A classic. I love it."
As they stood back to admire their work, Taylor's eyes sparkled with mischief. Before Travis could react, she scooped up a handful of snow and threw it at him, hitting him square in the chest.
"Oh, it's on now," he said, pretending to be serious as he gathered some snow in his hands.
A playful snowball fight ensued, with both of them laughing and dodging each other's throws. Eventually, they called a truce and collapsed onto the snow, lying side by side and catching their breath.
"This is the best day," Taylor said, turning her head to look at Travis.
"Yeah, it is," he agreed, reaching over to take her hand. "I love spending time with you like this."
They stayed there for a while, watching the snowflakes drift down from the sky. Finally, they decided it was time to head back to the cabin and warm up.
Once inside, they shed their snowy clothes and Taylor started making hot cocoa while Travis lit a fire in the fireplace. They settled onto the couch with their mugs, snuggling under a warm blanket.
"This is perfect," Taylor said, leaning her head on Travis's shoulder. "I wish every day could be like this."
"Me too, Tay," he replied, kissing the top of her head. "But I think days like this are special because they're rare."
She smiled, knowing he was right. They spent the rest of the afternoon talking and laughing, the warmth of the fire and their love keeping the cold at bay.
As evening fell, Taylor decided to play some music. She picked up her guitar and began to strum a familiar tune. Travis watched her with adoration, loving the way she poured her heart into every note.
"Sing something for me?" he asked softly.
Taylor nodded and started singing a song she'd written just for moments like this. Her voice filled the room, blending perfectly with the crackling fire and the howling wind outside. Travis couldn't help but feel incredibly lucky to have her in his life.
When she finished, he clapped and pulled her into a warm embrace. "You're amazing, you know that?"
"You're pretty amazing yourself," she replied, giving him a gentle kiss.
They spent the rest of the evening in each other's arms, talking about their dreams and plans for the future. The snow continued to fall outside, but inside, everything was warm and filled with love.
As they prepared for bed, Taylor looked out the window one last time. The world outside was still covered in a blanket of snow, untouched and perfect.
"Today was wonderful," she said, turning to Travis as he joined her by the window.
"It really was," he agreed, wrapping his arms around her. "And tomorrow will be too, because we'll be together."
Taylor smiled, feeling a deep sense of contentment. She knew that no matter what the future held, as long as they had each other, they could handle anything.
With that comforting thought, they climbed into bed, snuggling close under the covers. The fire in the fireplace slowly died down, but the warmth of their love remained, glowing brightly as they drifted off to sleep, dreaming of many more perfect snow days together.
