Taylor paced her living room, phone in hand, staring at the blank screen as if willing a notification to appear. Travis had promised he'd call after his late-night team meeting, but it was already well past midnight, and the silence felt heavier than usual.

She sighed, sinking into the plush couch, the faint hum of the city outside her window doing little to comfort her. It had been weeks since she last saw Travis, and the distance was beginning to wear on her. Between her Eras Tour and his football season, their schedules rarely aligned, leaving them navigating their relationship through fleeting phone calls and sporadic video chats.

Just as she was about to give up and head to bed, her phone buzzed, lighting up with Travis's name. A smile broke across her face as she quickly answered.

"Hey, baby," his warm voice greeted her, instantly melting away some of the tension she'd been holding.

"Hey, you," she replied, curling up on the couch. "I was starting to think you forgot about me."

"Never," he said firmly. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. The meeting ran longer than I thought, and then Coach had us watching game footage. How are you holding up?"

Taylor hesitated. She didn't want to burden him with how lonely she'd been feeling, but she also knew they'd promised to be honest with each other.

"I'm okay," she said softly. "Just... I miss you, Trav. It's been so hard not having you here."

"I miss you too, Tay," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "Every time I step on that field, I wish you were in the stands cheering me on. It's not the same without you."

"I wish I could be there," she admitted, her voice breaking slightly. "But with the tour and the album deadlines, it feels like there's no time for us anymore."

Travis sighed on the other end of the line. "I know, baby. Believe me, I feel it too. But we're a team, right? We'll get through this together."

His words brought a sense of comfort, but the ache of missing him still lingered. "Do you really think so?" she asked, her vulnerability shining through.

"Absolutely," he said without hesitation. "Look, how about we plan something? As soon as you get a break in your schedule, I'll fly out to wherever you are. We'll make it happen, no matter what."

Taylor smiled, imagining him dropping everything just to see her. "You'd really do that?"

"For you? Always," he said, his tone unwavering. "You're worth it, Tay."

The sound of his voice, so full of love and reassurance, brought tears to her eyes. "I love you, Trav."

"I love you too, sweetheart. More than anything."

They talked for another hour, sharing stories about their days and reminiscing about the last time they were together. By the time they hung up, Taylor felt a renewed sense of hope.

A week later, Taylor was in the middle of rehearsals when her assistant approached her with a mischievous grin. "You might want to take a quick break," she said.

Taylor frowned but followed her assistant out to the hallway. As soon as she turned the corner, she spotted Travis standing there, a bouquet of her favorite flowers in hand.

"Surprise," he said with a sheepish smile.

"Travis!" she exclaimed, running into his arms. He dropped the flowers to wrap her in a tight hug, lifting her off the ground.

"I told you I'd come to you," he said, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

Tears of joy filled her eyes as she held onto him. "I can't believe you're here. How did you manage this?"
