December was always Taylor's favorite month. From the festive lights adorning every corner to the crisp winter air, it felt magical to her. But this year, it was different—extra special. She didn't know it yet, but it would become one of the most unforgettable months of her life.

As December 13th approached, her birthday plans were low-key. With her Eras Tour taking a break, Taylor wanted to enjoy some quiet time with her family and close friends, especially with Travis. He had been her rock throughout the past months, balancing his football season with making time for her, ensuring she felt loved and supported. It was their first Christmas season together, and she couldn't have been happier.

What Taylor didn't know was that Travis had been planning something extraordinary behind the scenes. For weeks, he had been coordinating with her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, as well as her closest friends, to make sure everything was perfect for her birthday surprise. It was going to be more than just any birthday—it was going to be the day he asked her to marry him.

The morning of December 13th, Taylor woke up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and pancakes. She smiled as she stretched in bed, knowing exactly who was behind the thoughtful gesture. Travis had always been an early riser, and despite his busy schedule, he never missed a chance to spoil her.

"Good morning, birthday girl!" Travis greeted her, walking into the bedroom with a tray of breakfast.

She beamed at him, her heart swelling with affection. "Good morning to you too, handsome."

He placed the tray on her lap and kissed her forehead softly. "I thought you deserved breakfast in bed on your special day."

"You're too sweet," she said, smiling up at him. "Thank you."

They ate together, laughing and chatting about their plans for the day. Taylor wasn't expecting much beyond a quiet dinner with her family and a few close friends. What she didn't notice was Travis's subtle excitement and nerves bubbling underneath his calm demeanor. He had hidden the ring, one he had chosen carefully, in his coat pocket and kept rehearsing in his mind how he'd propose later that night.

As the day progressed, they spent the afternoon decorating the Christmas tree in her Nashville home. Taylor loved Christmas more than anything, and decorating with Travis felt like a dream come true. She hung ornaments with stories behind them, sharing memories with him as they sipped hot cocoa and laughed together. Travis, being the thoughtful guy he was, pretended to be fully invested, though his mind was already on the proposal.

By evening, the house was filled with warmth as her parents arrived, along with a few close friends like Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and Jack Antonoff. It was an intimate gathering, exactly how Taylor liked it—cozy, filled with the people who mattered most to her. What she didn't know was that everyone else was in on the secret.

After dinner, Taylor suggested they go outside to look at the Christmas lights Travis had helped her set up earlier that week. He gladly obliged, knowing this was the perfect moment. The chilly December air kissed their cheeks as they stepped outside, the yard glowing with twinkling lights. Taylor's house looked like something out of a winter fairytale, and she couldn't stop smiling.

"I love this time of year so much," she said, resting her head on Travis's shoulder as they walked toward the gazebo in her backyard. "It's like everything slows down, and you just get to enjoy the little things."

Travis nodded, feeling his heart race. "Yeah, it's a pretty special time."

They stood under the gazebo, where the Christmas lights formed a soft halo around them. The setting was perfect, just as Travis had imagined. He gently took both of her hands in his, turning to face her fully.

"You know, Tay," he began, his voice steady but full of emotion, "being with you has been the best thing that's ever happened to me. You've shown me what love really means, and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else."

Taylor's heart fluttered as she looked up at him, her eyes wide and shining. She had no idea where this was going but could feel the intensity in his words.

"And I know how much Christmas means to you," Travis continued, reaching into his coat pocket. "I wanted to make this Christmas—this birthday—extra special."

Before she could react, Travis dropped down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box. Taylor gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as her eyes filled with tears.

"Oh my God," she whispered, barely able to believe what was happening.

Travis opened the box to reveal a sparkling engagement ring. "Taylor Alison Swift, will you marry me?"

For a moment, time seemed to stop. The world around them faded away as Taylor's emotions took over. She nodded, tears streaming down her face, and whispered, "Yes. Yes, of course, I'll marry you."

Travis stood, slipping the ring onto her finger before pulling her into his arms. They kissed, the world around them erupting into cheers as her family and friends, who had been watching from inside, burst outside to congratulate them.

"I can't believe you all knew!" Taylor laughed through her happy tears, hugging her parents.

Scott grinned, pulling her into a tight hug. "We wouldn't have missed this for the world, sweetheart."

Andrea kissed her on the cheek, tears in her own eyes. "We're so happy for you, Tay."

Selena and Gigi embraced her, squealing with excitement, while Jack playfully wiped a tear from his eye, pretending to be overly emotional. "I knew this day would come!" he teased, making everyone laugh.

Later that night, as the party wound down and everyone drifted to bed, Taylor and Travis found themselves alone in the quiet living room, the glow of the Christmas tree casting a soft light around them. Taylor rested her head on Travis's shoulder, looking at the ring on her finger, still in awe of how her birthday had turned out.

"I can't believe you did this," she whispered. "You've made this the best birthday of my life."

Travis smiled, wrapping his arm around her. "You deserve it, Tay. I just want to make you happy—forever."

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with love. "You already do, Trav. You always have."

As they sat there, surrounded by the warmth of the season and the love they shared, Taylor realized that December had become even more special. It wasn't just her favorite holiday month anymore—it was the month she said yes to forever with the love of her life.

And she couldn't wait for every December to come.
