I ran back upstairs and grabbed my phone, wondering what Lucas had done.
I called his phone, forgetting that he was in class.
"Hey babe."
He sounded really groggy.
"Are you sleeping?"
He grunted and I could hear him yawning.
"Yeah, shouldn't you be in class?"
"I'm at home and I'm coming over."
When I got to Lucas' he was still in the bed. I never asked why he didn't go to school. I had used my key to get in. During the summer while my mom worked I normally stayed with him anyway so he just made me a copy of the key.
"What the hell did you tell Sam?"
Lucas kind of laughed.
"I was just wondering if he knew what we'd done before he started putting his junk in you."
I rolled my eyes as Lucas continued,
"That's what the punk gets for answering your phone"
"He was just taking me to school Lucas! And he's never going to want to 'put his junk in me' if he thinks you're always going to be there to torture him and try and take me from him!" I sat down on the bed.
Lucas stayed quiet for a few seconds.
"Do you still love me?"
I looked up at him. I wanted to say no but I couldn't lie.
"Yes."
Lucas turned to face me, grabbing my hands in his.
"I swear to you I never cheated on you. Kenny's girlfriend was only here to pick up his guitar that he left. You can ask him."
I didn't have anything to say except for okay. I kind of felt like an idiot for being so insecure and jumping to conclusions.
"If I swear to never hurt you again do you think we could work things out?"
Lucas whispered, nusling his nose in close to my neck.
I backed up from him.
"You swore ten months ago that you'd never hurt me."
Lucas tightened his grip on my hands.
"Please Scarlet."
Something about him begging was so appealing to me
I kissed him.
"You owe me a bottle of jack Daniels" Lucas said laughing as he pulled away.
I rarely ever drank and neither did my mom but I managed to get Lucas some more that morning.
I reached in my purse and pulled out a full bottle and kissed him again
