Briella's POV
"I thought I told you not to miss me," I said after however long it was Luke and I were kissing for, we'd moved from just inside the door to the bed
"Can't help it," he said, "but if I recall correctly you said don't miss me too much," a smirk forming on his face
"Well..." I got cut off by a knock on the door
"Fucks sake Michael," Luke said, "I swear to God," he got up off of the bed and walked over to the door, "you're fucking dead Clifford,"
"I'm not Michael," I heard an woman's Australian accent from the door. I couldn't see her face as Luke was towering over her; being the giant that he is, "and I thought I raised you better than to use that language Luke," oh shit, I thought, it's his mother, I'm fucking screwed
"Yeah sorry mum," he said, "what are you doing here?"
"Did you forget that I was coming to visit you for a bit?" She asked
"Uh maybe..." He trailed off. I wanted to move so badly and hide in the bathroom or something, but I knew that if I did, Luke's mum would see me, or at least hear me leave the bedroom, "but now's actually not a good time," he told her
"Why Luke?" His mum asked, "it's not like you have sound check for another few hours,"
"I know, mum," he said
"You have someone over don't you?" Luke stayed silent, obviously giving away that I was indeed in the room
"Uh yeah," he said after a minute
"It's not hard to tell Luke," she said, "your hair's a mess," I cursed myself for running my hands through his hair, when we were kissing earlier, "I thought I raised you better than this," she said
"You did, but..."
"No buts Luke," she cut him off. Nothing else was spoken after that
"Mum," Luke said, "what are you doing?"
"I want to meet this girl," she said, oh fuck, I really am screwed, I thought
"Mum please, now's not a good time," he was practically begging. His begging and pleading didn't seem to stop her though; because a few seconds later I was face to face with his mother.I didn't know what to say. By the look on her face I could tell she recognised me. She knew I was that girl. The girl from the club the night of his birthday. I decided to speak up to eliminate the awkward silence that was in the room, "hi," I began, "Briella Jacobs," I extended my hand for her to shake
"Liz Hemmings," she said, shaking my hand, "do I know you from somewhere?" She asked, even though she obviously knew who I was
"Um..." I said, not really knowing what to say
"You've never met or seen her before mum," Luke spoke up
"I find that hard to believe," his mum, whose name I now knew to be Liz, said, "her face was plastered all over the Internet a few days ago,"
"Uh, yeah," I sighed, "about that..." I started to speak, but then got cut off
"It was my fault mum," Luke said, "Cal and I met Elle and her friend at the hotel earlier that day and invited them out," his mother didn't seem too impressed with his explanation and spoke up
"I think Briella and I need to have a little chat," she said, "would you grab coffee with me?" She asked
"Mum," Luke groaned, "she doesn't want to,"
"Actually Luke," I began, "I'd love to, Mrs Hemmings,"
"Well," she said, "I'll let you go and get cleaned up a bit, and I'll meet you in the lobby in twenty minutes,"
"I'll see you then," I said to herShe left Luke's suite shortly after, leaving him and I alone again, "Elle you really don't have to do this," he said, running a hand through his already messy hair, "I mean, do you even want to?"
"Not particularly, but I think it's best this happens,"
"It's weird though,"
"I know," I agreed
"We're not even together," he said, and to be honest I'd be lying if I said that didn't sting a little "you shouldn't have to do this,"
"I know we're not together, but your mum seems kind of scary, so while I'm here in Orange County, I kind of want to get on her good side,"
"I still don't know Elle,"
"It'll be fine Luke, I promise, mums love me,"
"No offence I find that hard to believe," he smirked, he was joking. Thank God! I would have slapped him if he wasn't
"What's that supposed to mean," I pouted, playing along with his little joke
"I was kidding," he wrapped his arms around me, kissing my forehead
"I know, idiot," I laughed, standing on my toes and giving him a quick peck, he still had to bend down a bit, because he was literally a foot taller than me, "I better go, and meet your mum. I still have to fix my hair. I think she thinks I'm staying here with you,"
"You know you always can," he smirked
"We'll see Lucas,"
"My names not Lucas," he pouted
"It's not?" I asked, knowing full well it wasn't. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't ask my cousin or Rachael for some information on him and the other band members
"Nope," he shook his head with a smile, "you better go," he said, "mum tends to talk a lot, so I'll text you, because we might be at sound check or something by the time you're done,"
"Alright, I'll see you later," I smiled, he gave me a quick, yet sweet peck on the lips and then I turned around and walked out the door.
