A/N: so I want to play a little game in this chapter! I've included a little lyric/ song reference in this! Guess where it is! You'd most likely be able to!
So with out further adieu, here's chapter 6!

Briella's POV

"I thought I told you to stay away from my son!" Luke's mum said rather firmly
"Mum, be nice," Luke said, not sounding too happy with his mum
"No Luke," she said, "she's no good for you,"
"Excuse me?" I said, almost scoffing "who the fuck gave you the right to say that about me?" Both Luke and his mum looked rather shocked at my outburst, honestly it was one of the best things about being so short, no one expects you to be harsh or intimidating in the slightest. It was a great misconception, "you don't even know me,"
"I know your type though," she said
"Oh, then please enlighten me, what is my type exactly?"
She stood there not knowing what to say, I impatiently ran a hand through my hair, while Luke tried to grab my other one. It was then she spoke up, "you're the type of girl, who would use a naive guy, like my son," she gestured towards Luke, "to gain fame and attention,"
"Mum that's completely uncalled for," Luke said
"Luke," she groaned, "get it through your head, she works three jobs, and she's almost twenty five,"
"I'm sorry," I spat, "again, you know nothing about me. So don't go and judge me until you do,"
"I know enough," Liz said
"Mum that's not really much to know," Luke stood up for me. I really wish he would stop butting in like this, it's only going to make matters worse, and make it look like I have him wrapped around my finger
"Luke," she warned, "I honestly don't see why this is a big deal,"
"Mum it's a huge deal," he said
"Not really," she said, "you're making it a big deal Luke, I don't understand why either of you are so adamant about this situation,"
"I'm making a deal of it," I began, "because you're judging me because you don't even know me," I took a breathe, "but you know what? That's fine, you probably think I'm a no hoper right? I work three jobs at twenty four years old," the expression on both Liz and Luke's proved that they were both shocked at my sudden burst of confidence, "but take a chance at getting to know me and you'll see different,"
"What do you mean?" Liz asked
"You're telling me to stay away from your son, who might I remind you is nineteen, but you're only reasoning behind it is my age?"
"That, and I don't know you," Liz answered
"Mum," Luke groaned, "that's exactly what she's been trying to tell you, you don't know her, so don't judge her,"
"Luke, I still don't understand why this is such a big deal, I get why it is for Briella though," she said, "but why for you?" That was a good question, I didn't know why Luke was making such a huge deal out of this. I mean obviously if we'd known each other for a bit longer than just a few days, most people would talk it up to having feelings for the other person, could it be? I asked my self
"No... No reason," he struggled to get it out. His mum just gave him a look, I couldn't read it though, "okay fine!" He gave in, "I like her," WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, I screamed out internally, "I like you," he said turning to face me. Both Liz and I just stood there, not knowing what to say
"I..." I couldn't finish my sentence because I was interrupted by a stage hand
"You're on in two Luke," he said
"Right," Luke nodded, "I better go,"
"Break a leg up there," I gave an awkward smile. He wrapped an awkward arm around me, and bent down to kiss my cheek. He then went to hug his mum, it was cute; but this moment was hella awkward.

"Well that wasn't what I was expecting," I heard Liz mumble from beside me, after a few minutes
"Neither," I agreed, "but with that being said, I think you owe it to him and my self to actually give me a chance and get to know me,"
"Why?" She asked, "you're probably just the flavour of the week,"
"Oh wow," I scoffed, "yeah maybe I am, but that doesn't mean shit,"
"He'll move on to the next town and you'll go home and there'll be other girls for him," she said, "he's probably just caught up in the older woman fantasy,"
"You know what? You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover," I told her, rather firmly, "but let me tell you something," I took a huge, deep breathe; getting ready to continue my speech, "since I was sixteen I've practically raised my self! You're not the only person who doesn't approve of the way I live. My parents are just like you, so fucking judgemental so guess what? I'm fucking use to it!" She was shocked again, "and considering I've practically raised myself for the last nine years of my life, I believe I've done a pretty damn good job!"
"I..." She still didn't know what to say, "I... I didn't realise,"
"No you didn't, because you didn't give it a chance, to see that I'm not the worst person in the entire world," I didn't want to be around such negative energy anymore so I walked off in search of Jess.
