"Incandescent Meteor to End the World!"
Surprising no one, some nameless sad sack of a NPC got hit with Nozomi's funny rock and thrown out of the competition for good alongside their teammates.
Izanagi was in the finals. Hooray for them, it totally wasn't obvious that'd happen from a mile away.
But with Izanagi has the champiom from side A, the time to get one for side B was nigh.
On one side, Tartarus, the team that could only be rivaled by Hanabi, who had been thrown out last round. They were the audience's favourite team to win this event.
On the other, Blacksync, the team who made the fact they had nothing to lose their motto, and who kicked Hanabi out of the run against all odds.
In Blacksync's room, the three members of the team gathered around a table, the two boys waiting for their leader to give them some words of wisdom.
"So, this is it... Our doom."
But they're leader was Kiru so of course she had nothing good to say.
"That's the best you can come up with?" Akafuyu asked.
"Shut up, I'm an engineering student, not a dang japanese major!"
"So we really are going in without a plan... If lacking a plan is the boss' plan, I'm in." Satoru said, kicking back in his seat.
"Hey hey, I got a plan!" Kiru declared, slamming her hands on the table.
"You do?" The two boys asked, semi-judgemenral gazes locked on her.
"Ergh, I got... I-i got some percentage of one..."
"1% is always better than 0%." The white haired boy said.
"It's not 1% of a plan! It's at least fifty!" The team leader barked. "Hell, make it 55%!"
"That doesn't expire any amount of hope!" Akafuyu deadpanned. "This is Tartarus, the team of the era, we can't just go in with half a plan and hope good luck handles the rest!"
"55% is more than a half so ha! In your face!"
"So, what's the 55% of the plan, boss? Maybe we can fill our the remaining 45% as we go." Satoru suggested.
"That's the spirit! You're awfully colaborative today."
"All in a day's work, boss Rita."
"I'll kill you!"
"Get to the point..." Akafuyu asked, already feeling the splitting headache his partner's plan was going to give him.
"I'm getting to it!" She growled. Arms crossed, she looked at her teammates with a serious expression for once. "Tartarus has one fatal flaw. Their formation. It's Michinaga Jiro first, then Shingen Akimitsu, and then Hyoudo Naomitsu, the Eternal Ruler. This formation never changes. The Eternal Ruler never fights unless one of his underlings loses."
"But if both lose..." Satoru began.
"Then the Eternal Ruler won't come out. Meaning our 55% of a plan is simple. First we beat Michinaga, then we beat Shingen. We need to go 2-0 here. Losing just one fight throws this entire thing off course."
"What's our formation for this one gonna be, then?" Akafuyu asked.
"Satoru'll go first and beat Michinaga, then I'll go next and beat Shingen. We beat the Eternal Ruler's goons, he never shows his face. Simple as that."
"What if one of us loses their game?" Satoru questioned.
"In that case... I don't know." Kiru admitted, groaning with a pained expression. "If Satoru loses, I'll still need to go second to secure game three, so Akafuyu's stuck fighting the Eternal Ruler regardless."
