It was still friday, still the day where Satoru joined Blacksync as their official third member, but the time was different.
It was the evening of that day, and in just a few seconds, friday turned to saturday.
Kikka slowly opened her eyes, wincing as she took in her surroundings and the lights in them. She knew she was laying down on her side with her head resting on something comfortable, and going off the tables and display shelves around her, she deduced she was still in Ruler's Dogma.
"I must have fallen asleep while I worked on my deck... What time is it...?"
She weakly muttered, raising her head just a bit.
But that was enough to make her notice something.
Her deck was still on the same table she sat on when she got there, so she probably fell asleep there.
And yet, she was on the couch.
"It's now past midnight, Kikka-san."
Her eyes widenned, and she turned her head to look up.
That soft and caring voice had become familiar ever since she began frequenting that card shop. It belonged to the afternoon part-timer, a girl her age with a beauty she always considered unique.
Amber eyes that studied her features with an intense gaze, perhaps due to her eyeshadow; jet black hair that wasn't particularly long, styled like a bob cut, with a standout violet streak on the right side; lips of a dark, blood red colour; a simple yet cool match of a black and white stripped top, tucked into a black pair of wide leg pants and under a beige leather jacket, and grey heel boots; and a silver cross dangling from the necklace she wore.
She kept one hand on Kikka's hip, to stop her from rolling out of the couch during her nap, and used the other to softly stroke her hair. Her nails were painted charcoal black, as to not allow any shine to come from them, and were neatly trimmed, though that only applied to her middle and ring finger.
To her, she was like an unique violet rose blooming in a desolate world.
Yeah, Kikka wasn't beating any allegations.
"LUCIA-SAN!"
Nor was she staying on the couch, because the second she tried to sit up, she slid out of the couch and fell on her ass. Good going, new girl.
"Ouchie... My butt..." She whined.
"Fufufu... You needed not to get up, Kikka-san. Was the accomodation not to your liking? Should I have placed a pillow between your head and my lap?"
"La-!" Kikka made some weird gasping sound that she rapidly pushed away to save some her dignity. She coughed to clear her throat and jumped back on her feet. "A-ahem! I'm so sorry for falling asleep here, Lucia-san! I must have caused you a bunch of trouble!"
"This evening can hardly be deemed a punishment." Lucia declared, crossing her legs to lean forward and rest her face on her right palm. "You have an uniquely solemn expression when you sleep. You also drool a little. It's cute."
Kikka felt a strong shiver go all the way from the top of her head to the tip of her toes.
"Y-you probably wanted to go home but had to stay because of me....You should have just woken me up..." She chuckled.
"There was no need. Ruler's Dogma is typically vacant during friday evenings, which creates a most perfect time window to do the cleaning for the weekend. Your soft breathing was a most wonderful company during my work."
"S-s-soft breathing..." Kikka quietly repeated that to herself, allowing a silly giggle to slip out as she blushed at the compliment.
"I had transported you to the couch before, and took the liberty of joining you once I was done. Had this couch been bigger, I would have joined you on the dreamscape, but seeing you so peaceful was enough to replenish my energies. I will remind the manager to acquire a foldable couch in the future."
