3rd Person POV

"All the copies of Hogwarts: A History have been taken out, and there's a two week waiting list." Hermione complained sitting down at a table with Ron, Y/n and Harry.

"Why do you want it?" Harry asked.

"Same reason everyone else wants it." Y/n answered.

"Because we want to read up on the legend of the chamber of secrets." Hermione added to Y/n's answer.

"What is the chamber of secrets?" Ron asked.

"That's the thing, I don't remember. I just know I've read about it somewhere." Hermione said.

"So have I. Unlike you though I remember it was in Hogwarts: A History." Y/n added not looking up from her book.

"Do you remember what you read?" Harry asked her.

"Not much of it." She said putting her book down of the table. "It said something about when Hogwarts was founded, Salazar Slytherin wasn't happy with the fact they weren't taking only purebloods. So, he built this chamber and there was some kind of monster in it. From my understanding it's only ever been opened once if it even exists." She explained.

"Hold on. You said you remembered a bit of it." Ron said.

"Yeah, because there are some massive plot holes in that story and we don't even know if that's true or correct." Y/n argued.

"So say it does exist, did it say what the monster was?" Harry asked.

"No it didn't."

A few minutes later they headed towards history of magic. Ron and Hermione bickered the whole way Y/n jumping into the conversation every so often. History of Magic was by far one of the most boring subjects in Y/n's perspective. Most people just slept during it.

"I was wondering if you you could tell us anything about the chamber of secrets." Hermione asked putting her hand in the air. This caused everyone in the class to sit up and listen.

"I teach History of Magic, not myths just facts." Professor Binns responded.

"Don't myths have a base that is fact though professor?" Y/n argued, she earned a glare from Hermione who obviously wasn't happy she'd answered back to a teacher.

"Well, yes that could be one way to think about it but this tale is completely ludicrous." He responded.

"Please professor." Y/n pleaded.

"Very well then. So you all know that Hogwarts was founded more that a thousand years ago. There were four founders, one of which was Salazar Slytherin. Slytherin was unhappy with the fact that they were letting people that had muggles for parents into the school. He and Gryffindor had a feud and Salazar disappeared. That is what reliable sources tell us, but as the story has somewhat been changed, the rumors are that before Slytherin left he built a chamber under the school. And only the heir can get into it to unleash the monster within." He paused. "It is all nonsense of course. The school has been searched many times over and nothing along the lines of a hidden chamber has been found."

"But sir surely to find it someone would have to be an heir to Salazar Slytherin directly?" Y/n asked.

"Nonsense Malor, if nobody has found anything over thousands of years then-" He was cut off by Parvati.

"But professor maybe they haven't found it because they need dark magic."

"Just because a wizard has dark magic does not mean that-" Professor Binns started before being cut off by Dean this time.
