(A/N: this is really short, sorry!)

It's 10pm and Evie's laying in the bed, scrolling through the "Twins" Wikipedia page. It was a good read, lots of information about multiple births. It didn't really occur to her until recently that this birth she was going to have was going to be different on so many levels. Or at least, it could be:

Babies born from multiple-birth pregnancies are much more likely to result in than those from single pregnancies. 51% of twins and 91% of triplets are born preterm, compared to 9.4% in singletons. 14% of twins and 41% of triplets are even born very preterm, compared to 1.7% in singletons.

There was a very good chance they'd be here earlier than she would like and that kind of scared her. Then there was the concern of all the problems they could have due to being born early. Josh and Jake turned out okay though, which did calm her down a little but– there was still that chance. Today she was officially 10 weeks along now, which seemed unreal. She couldn't believe she'd known Josh for this long. Has it really been 10 weeks?

She gets up from the bed briefly, thinking about joining Josh in the living room to watch TV but falls back into the comfort of the sheets. She'd been feeling ill since dinner. It seemed like the nausea was just getting worse and worse. And it sucked. Down the hall, she could hear faint chatter and occasional laughter coming from the living room. Josh had a video call again this evening with the guys, but every once in a while, she could hear the girlfriends joining in on the conversation. Evie felt like she was missing out, but she was too sick to really get up out of bed. She'd texted Kelsey an hour ago, but still hadn't heard anything back. Evie glances to the bathroom door, wondering if maybe a bath might quell her nausea a little before bed.

Forcing herself up with a groan and walks over to the bathroom across the way and draws a bath. Josh had recently purchased some of this really good bath stuff that smelled like lavender that she wanted to try. She pops the bottle open and drizzles the gooey clear substance into the water, smiling as it foamed almost immediately. She felt better already. It smelled wonderful. Lavender and Chamomile, the package said. She undresses while it fills up, pausing to look at herself in the mirror. She had a belly now, that was for sure. And she'd gained some weight, which wasn't a bad thing. Evie had always been on the skinny side. She almost wished she could feel them. A fair trade, she thought at least, since she'd transitioned only to wearing leggings low. Maternity pants were in the foreseeable future.

Stepping into the bath, Evie sinks into the warmth. The nausea seemed to melt away with the warm water and bubbles. She remains there, huddled in the warmth and quiet for a few moments. She wondered if the babies would get hot if she stayed in for too long. "Couldn't they?" Evie wondered to herself, "The water's not too far away. Maybe I won't stay long."

There's a knock at the door, "Evie?" Josh asked, "May I come in?" Josh was her boyfriend and he'd seen her naked many times. He'd put two babies in her. Yet she felt nervous about saying yes. But... this was the only bathroom in the house. "Yes," she replied quietly, letting herself sink into the water below the bubbles. She must look hideous anyway. Her breasts were swollen and sensitive even to her own touch. Even her vagina looked weird. He wouldn't find any of her attractive, there was no way. The door creaks open and Josh pokes his head from behind the door, "Hey mama," he cooed the words, "Just wanted to see how you're feeling. I see you've found the new bubble bath soap I got for you."

"For me?" Evie points to herself, confused, "Don't you also like to take baths?"

"Yes," Josh nodded, "But I had a feeling that you might want to take one too. Cures what ails you, ya know?"
