Chapter 38

Kim is freaking out but tries to calm himself. "Asses all the compound and mansion's ground. There must be a secret passage we don't know," he says to Big, who nods and leaves immediately. "Call Chan!" he says to Arm. "If his number isn't working, track him!"

Vegas, Pete, and Macau arrive in under ten minutes. That's a record. "V, please get Chan to tell us every secret passage that he and my father knew!" he tells Vegas. The latter takes over the phone from Arm. Chan no longer works for the family the moment his father is bed-bound. He retired himself.

Vegas can be very persuasive even to the most reluctant, just the right man for the job because Chan can be 'difficult'. He said the day he quit, he didn't want anything to do with the family anymore, probably wary of the shift of the command. Everyone in the room, besides Pete, never heard him pleading so earnestly. It got the job done because after ten minutes Chan finally cracked. "Chan said the one in your father's library and his room were the closest call," says Vegas. "He's willing to help, said he has a soft spot for Chay. Should we bring him in?"

After a thought, Kim shakes his head. "Too risky. He is too close to my father. But track him still, just in case."

Vegas agrees.

Kim continues, "V, this might be too much, but we need your connection with Ash. He probably knows where his father's playgrounds are. We need to cover it all."

"What if Ash is involved in this?" Macau gives his two cents. "He wants Chay."

"Then we monitor his movement after I pay a visit. Right, cous?" he says to Kim with a smile.

"Right. And pay a visit to his father too. Extort whatever you can from him. He owes me. I'll send the file," Kim says. Vegas nods, then busies himself with reading immediately when his phone dings.

"We're already tracking Chay's movement. They are heading north, to the mountains. We already sent a team to cover it," Pete informs. Kim hands over his phone without a word, but Pete knows what he wants. He puts the tracker application in Kim's phone. 

"Kinn," he speaks to his brother, "I need you to take over here. I'm going to hunt!"

"Can I come?" Macau asks. Kim looks at Vegas and Pete first, seeking approval. Vegas nods. "Sure. Wear a vest and something red in your outfit to make it easier  for my team to recognize you."

"You're taking your team?" Kinn asks. Kim nods. When Porsche is also getting up with Kim, Kinn automatically grabs his arm, startled. 'Where are you going?' is there without being said.

"Well, I obviously will come with Kim."

"No," Kim says. "You're going to Amara's house. We must act swiftly. Take a team you can trust. Remember, we definitely have a mole."

Porsche nods. "Pete, can you come with me?"

Pete looks at Vegas, kisses his lips, then nods. "Is my operative clothes still here?" he asks.

"I don't know. Ask a new one, Partner. Are you forgetting that we're rich?" Porsche says with a smile. Pete smiles back.

"Who are we going to take?" Pete asks. "Can we take our guys, V?"

"Sure, Babe. Just remember safety first, safety always. Don't play heroes. Ok?" Both Pete and Macau nod.

Kinn knows he can't forbid Porsche. It takes time for him to nod to his lover. He hugs Porsche tightly. "Come back to me, ok?" he says. They kiss each other hard enough to make a sound.

Khun gives him a hug to Kim. "Bring him back!" he says.

Kim is out in a matter of seconds. He asks Mong to bring his laptop out. His full team, minus Big, is already on standby.
