That morning, Meilin went to school with Shelly. A feeling of excitement and nervousness enveloped her as she stepped into the campus of her new school. Shelly held Meilin's hand and smiled encouragingly, "You'll do great, Meilin. I'll always be by your side."
"Yes, I'll try my best," Meilin replied, feeling more confident thanks to Shelly's encouragement. Shelly led Meilin to the principal's office to greet him before heading to class. The principal, an elderly man with a kind face, smiled warmly at them.
"Oh Meilin, I've missed you so much. What made you come back here to study? Was it because Owen bullied you?" the principal asked. "Don't worry, you can study here. If anyone bullies you, I'll take care of it immediately."
"I missed you, so I came back here. Owen wouldn't dare do anything to me," Meilin replied. The principal nodded. "Oh, dear. If you have any problems, don't hesitate to tell me. Now, go on to your class." Shelly and Meilin said goodbye to the principal and headed to the classroom. Upon entering the class, the teacher introduced Meilin to everyone. "This is Meilin, a new student from England. Please help and welcome her."
Meilin bowed and smiled. "Hello, everyone, I'm Meilin. I look forward to getting to know all of you. Since I'm from England, my Korean isn't very good, so please bear with me."
The classmates all smiled back, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for Meilin. During recess, Shelly introduced Meilin to her group of friends. Jay Jo and Dom Kang were waiting.
"Meilin, this is Jay Jo and Dom Kang. They are very close friends of mine," Shelly introduced.
"Hi Meilin, nice to meet you," Jay said, smiling brightly.
"Hello Meilin, I hope you adjust quickly to life here," Dom Kang added.
Meilin felt very happy to meet and get to know new friends. "Thank you, I look forward to being friends with you all."
Noticing how Shelly chatted and laughed with Jay, Meilin realized the special feelings Shelly had for Jay. She looked at Shelly teasingly, making Shelly blush.
"You like Jay, don't you?" Meilin whispered, grinning.
Shelly didn't deny it, but her face turned red. "Yes, but he doesn't notice at all."
Meilin laughed. "Come on, I knew it. Don't worry, I'll help."
In the following days, Meilin quickly became the center of attention. Many boys at school showed interest and affection towards her. Some even left flowers and gifts in her desk to express their feelings. Shelly noticed this and couldn't help but laugh.
"Meilin, you're really popular," Shelly said, smiling. Shelly took a few photos of Meilin during happy moments and sent them to Owen. She knew Owen still cared about Meilin despite their distance.
Owen begged Shelly for information about Meilin. Each time Shelly sent pictures and updates, Owen felt a little more at ease.
