Owen stood before Meilin, his eyes fixed on her, not paying attention to his surroundings. Meilin noticed this, feeling a bit embarrassed because Owen didn't usually look at her this way.
When she saw Shelly from afar, Meilin quickly waved her over to ease the awkwardness. She looked at Shelly with grateful eyes.
"Hey, I'm here!" Meilin called softly, making Shelly turn around. Shelly's eyes widened in surprise when she saw Owen standing there. A thought flashed in her mind: did Owen come here because of the photos she sent him? "You idiot, what are you doing here?"
Owen sighed, staring at Shelly. "You know exactly why I'm here. Don't pretend you don't."
Meilin sensed there was a secret between Owen and Shelly that she wasn't aware of. "You two are hiding something from me, aren't you?"
Shelly looked at Meilin with a guilty expression. "We couldn't hide anything from you, dear." Shelly walked over and hugged Meilin, kissing her cheeks several times.
Seeing this, Owen frowned, wanting to separate them. "Hey, how dare you kiss Meilin in front of me?"
Shelly, seeing Owen's reaction, decided to push it further and pretended to kiss Meilin on the lips.
Meilin, seeing the two of them, couldn't help but laugh. It had been a long time since she felt so happy with her close friends.
Owen moved closer, keeping a respectful distance to avoid making Meilin uncomfortable. "I have something important to talk to you both about."
Both Meilin and Shelly looked at Owen curiously.Owen put on a pleading look. "I don't have a place to stay for the next few days. Can I stay at your place for a while?"
Meilin frowned at Owen. "Why didn't you prepare better?"
Shelly thought for a moment and then winked at Owen, saying, "Oh, aren't your parents on a business trip, Lin? Let Owen stay for a few days. I'm sure your parents would be happy to know he's here."
