*Piper's POV*

Lottie kept an arm wrapped around Piper's shoulder's the entire way to the tent. For that she was grateful to an extent, the winds were strong and Piper's ankle was still killing her so the support was helping her along.

However, once again she felt the strange battle in her mind. Her emotions still waging war against her thoughts.

Piper had tried so many times to push away her feelings. She'd convinced herself to form crushes on boys, never acting upon them but in her mind, it felt like progress. Piper had told herself over and over that her emotions were temporary, that her urges would dissolve.

After meeting Leila at the Wilderness School, she'd fully understood why she always seemed to focus on female characters and would feel mildly upset when they began dating their male love interests. Looking back, the answer seemed obvious. Maybe she'd known it then too but her denial had overruled her realisation.

Piper liked girls.

That simple truth had plagued her mind since she'd first understood its meaning. She couldn't get rid of it. She couldn't avoid it. It was a fact. A fact that the daughter of a famous actor did not want anyone to know. Yet a fact that Piper McLean most certainly wanted Charlotte Wilson to know.

"Piper?" Lottie's voice cut through her thoughts.

Piper was stood in the doorway to the tent, she had been so consumed by her thoughts she hadn't noticed the sudden change in her surroundings.

It was much warmer in the tent, the howling of wind was practically non-existent inside the canvas walls. She collapsed onto a camping chair set up in a corner. Coach had already sat down in the seat beside hers.

A girl who looked around seventeen walked up to Lottie. They conversed in hushed tones for a few minutes before the girl walked towards Piper, Lottie following behind anxiously.

The girl knelt down in front of Piper's chair and examined her ankle.

Piper looked to Lottie curiously. She wasn't the biggest fan of strangers staring at her without an introduction or reason.

Phoebe. Lottie mouthed. She's a healer.

Piper nodded slightly and relaxed into the chair. After a few minutes of the girl examining her ankle and pressing it lightly whilst murmuring to herself, she walked to the other side of the tent where there seemed to be a few cubby-holes of supplies.

The girl, Phoebe, walked back over holding a small bottle and some rolls of bandages with a pair of scissors. She knelt down again and began wrapping the bandage around her ankle.

Once she was done, she stood up and passed the bottle to Piper. "It's nectar, should help with the soreness, I'd be a bit more careful on that foot for a while." She smiled. "I'm Phoebe by the way, sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner I try to concentrate on healing my patient before that sort of thing, it's kind of ingrained in my brain to work before talking."

Piper smiled back at her after taking a few sips of the nectar. "No worries, thanks for helping us."

"No problem, I must say I was a bit shocked to see this one again but I don't think it's the first time I've seen people come back from the dead at this point." Phoebe gestured to Lottie who smiled sheepishly.

"So, I'll get you guys some hot chocolate and probably a change of clothes and then I want to hear all about how the quest has been going." Phoebe grinned, walking back over to the cubby-holes.

It had been around twenty minutes when the boys and Thalia finally arrived. Piper, Lottie and Hedge had all changed into the same silver winter gear as the hunters and all had mugs of hot chocolate that they were drinking while chatting to Phoebe.
