Minji

"Hey Min, what's up?"

I'm fuming as Mr Park strolls into my office without a care in the world. What the fuck? He tried to run me over and then tried to stab me to death, and now he's walking into my office like he did none of that? The audacity of this man!

I stare him down, my gaze as cold and emotionless as Hanni. I'm trying my hardest not to grab a pen from my pencil tub and stab him in the eye. He makes himself comfortable in the chair in front of me, leaning back like he's the king of this place or something.

"What do you want Mr Park?" I fake a polite tone. I'm itching to call him every single bad and mocking name possible on Earth, but I can't do that unless I'm asking to a death wish. Perhaps it'd be best to play the fool for now.

But it seems my attempt to mask my displeasure towards his presence is so strong, it still shows anyway. It's like trying to mask the smell of aged blue cheese. It's just not possible unless you're really determined. And right now I'm tired and I want to see Hanni. He narrows his eyes at me.

"What's with that tone Kim?" he asks, his voice dangerously low.

"You have no right to just waltz into my office after all you've done," I snap, getting up, slamming the table so hard some papers go flying.

Mr Park's face contorts with displeasure and annoyance. He gets up too, staring me down like I'm dog poop on the sidewalk. He fixes his tie and runs a hand through his greying hair.

"Do you seriously believe that Pham girl over me?" he asks, a sarcastic chuckle escaping his lips.

"And if I do? I have proof too," I challenged him. It's a little hard to be intimidating to someone who towers over you, but nevertheless, I just hoped my energy was defiant enough or something.

"What proof? That grainy video that the useless good for nothing lawyer managed to get her hands on?" he sneered, his voice dripping with venom.

I snatched his tie and pulled him close to my face, fiery fury dancing in my eyes as I raised my fist at him. He seemed surprised by my action, his eyes portraying his shock.

"Don't talk about Hanni like that," I spat at his face, each word holding hidden threats within it. I don't know why, but it infuriated me that he talked about her like that.

Mr Park let a sinister smirk walk across his face.

"That just makes it better," he laughs like a stupid witch, prying my hands off his tie. I glare daggers at him as he walks away. As his hand wraps around the handle, he turns back to me with a sly grin. "I'll see you later Min,"

It's something I've heard from him so many times before, but this time it doesn't feel good. It overwhelms me with dread and ominous disconcertment.

My thoughts immediately travel to Hanni. Damn it, what if she's in danger?

I grab my car keys as they jingle loudly in my hands. I run out of my office and through the company, practically flying down the stairs.

Hanni, I beg you, please be ok.

Hanni

Thankfully I don't need to stay too long in the hospital and I'm already discharged after a few days. The streets are bustling as usual, the familiar smell of petroleum gas fills the air. It's suffocating. When I finally reach the streets of my apartment, I take a deep breath and close my eyes.
