HAVING LORENZO HOME FOR TWENTY-FOUR HOURS, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK was weird and irritating because, for most of the day, Victoria was used to being here alone with only a few employees around. Neither Victoria nor Lorenzo spoke of the moment they shared on the day he was shot, yet there was an undeniable shift in their dynamic again. They continued to bicker and annoy each other to the point of leaving the room or shouting if no one was around, but there was also a new element at play. There were more accidental touches or brushes against each other as if their bodies had a mind of their own. Those have been happening since they started to live together, but rarely or only in front of the staff's eyes, and now... Now they happened more often, annoying and confusing both of them at the same time.
Their friends and siblings couldn't come to visit them and disperse the growing tension between them, as if they were deliberately busy every time Victoria or Lorenzo tried to invite them for dinner or to hang out. On top of that, both of them needed to act as a happy couple more than before because Lorenzo was home and the staff was around them, meaning they couldn't do anything about it while the maids and others were working. Plus, Lorenzo strengthened the security. She couldn't leave the house without the big group of bodyguards. Everything was building up inside Victoria, waiting for a moment to blow up. The stress, annoyance and other things. She could swear that she was going crazy.
Today was Saturday, meaning they were alone in the house, except for the security men outside. Lorenzo was upstairs, resting in their bed and working, so Victoria decided to use this as an opportunity to stay away from him as much as she could. She raided the cupboards for snacks, fetched several cans of Coke, and settled on the couch, flicking on the TV. Browsing her favourite movie genre, she found a movie to watch and smiled. She was ten minutes into it when Lorenzo decided to disturb her peaceful alone time on the couch and come downstairs to remind her of his existence.
"Are you watching sci-fi?" he asked, pausing at the living room's doorframe. His eyes travelled to the TV and then to her. Victoria turned to him and gave a slow nod in response while the people on the TV screen were starting to panic. "I love sci-fi!" Lorenzo exclaimed, his face breaking into a wide smile. She arched an eyebrow as he approached the couch and collapsed onto it beside her, snatching a handful of popcorn from the bowl on her lap.
